In S1 he was so awkward and introverted. You could tell he wasn't comfortable in his own skin. Once he met Vanessa, he was able to break out of his shell. Then when Wesley died, he had no one but himself to rely on. By S2 he's fully confident in himself, which just makes him more dangerous.
D'onofrio does a better portrayal than MCD, who I must admit was the best part of that shitty movie.

Season 1 was pretty good, wrapped up nicely as well.
Season 2 was pretty good too, but everything that happened with Electra kind of felt like she was just a side character, and not in a good way. When she died I knew that she wasn't actually dead because Nobu was still alive and of course the Hand will be able to bring her back. And of course to create conflict she's either going to be implanted with mind control poison blood or switch sides or some bullshit because if she just came back killed a bunch of people and went to hang out with Matt again it'd be boring.

Marvel is run by Perlmutter. Feige runs the MCU. Up until recently, Feige answered to Perlmutter, and the two clashed hard on a lot of issues.
After Age of Ultron underperformed at the box office, Disney gave Feige complete control of the movies. But Perlmutter still controls the TV shows.
The shows still reference the movies, because being related to the movies is their biggest selling point. But the movies don't really gain any extra audience from the shows, so if the movies references the shows Feige would just be giving Perlmutter free advertising. And he hates Perlmutter, so he never will.
The writers of AoU and Civil War have both openly stated that they don't watch the shows and have no intention of incorporating plotlines or characters from them.
