What's so bad about Pulp Fiction? Don't use the words "meme" or "quoting"
The fanbase and the director.
>>69032317
it's just really overrated imo
>>69032387
what's the problem? they like things that you don't like?
Contrarian faggotry began with people pretending not to like Pulp Fiction.
Thanks a lot, assholes.
meme quoting
>>69032317
>that's a tasty burger!
It's a nigger movie for people who are niggers or like niggers in some way.
>>69032317
I simply don't get it.
Just a bunch of short stories connected to each other.
Why do people say it's the best movie of all time?
>>69032465
>>69032477
Wow. Good thing i didn't watch the Berserk remakes. This shit looks awful. I sincerely hope the new series isn't using this art style.
>>69032317
I think it's great but is there an age exemption? I'm old enough to have seen it in the theater, so I don't give a fuck if people think it's "reddit." Also, Tarantino absolutely sucks dick now anyway, his last 3 or 4 movies have been dogshit.
Millennial plebs itt.
They obviously weren't old enough to remember 1994 when this came it. It was a shot of adrenaline to film and was shocking in general.
Solid acting, good directing, serious but fun atmosphere, cool dialog (for the time), great editing and great soundtrack.
>>69032527
nobody sane says that.
>>69032317
It's just meme quotes for 2 hours
>>69032317
I like it because it cured my insomnia.
Thanks Quentin, this and Django Unchained are the only two movies to ever put me to sleep.
>>69032736
Hello dad!You're right tho
>>69032736
this is true but it's not like anyone here has any sense of what good filmmaking is.
>>69032708
"Dogshit' is a bit overboard tbf
>Any time Samuel L Jackson is on screen = A+
>Bruce Willis without the french chick = A
>Travolta/Uma = B-
>Willis with the french chick = D
>>69032317
the people on this board for the most part don't have any sense of film history or older film experience to judge it from...because they don't watch older films and consider that nothing important didn't happen in the world until they arrived in it
since they were born pretty much post 1995-to 2000...they're knowledge is limited to the point of the past 15 or 20 yrs....so pretty minimal

>>69033001
I didn't even watch it, Django was so terrible. I'm utterly certain it's terrible, though.
>>69033113
It wasn't as bad as Django.
>>69032875
>Bruce Willis and Marcellus Wallace A++
>>69033113
>>69033147
Django was a nigger, white apologist shitshow
Why do people like Tarantino?
Mid brow / semi high concept appeal from devices like genre blending, trope subversion, and novelties like anachronistic scenes go a long way for some people, especially with his knack for tense and surreal dialog. Throw in a generous budget and there's the appeal. It's not hard to understand.
>>69033113
nope
django is his worst, hateful 8 might be his best
but from your earlier post i'm guessing you don't like IB or death proof so why don't you just kill yourself?
>>69032527
You're probably young enough that you're used to non-linear narrative, but there was a time when this was something relatively new in film.
Beyond that:
Style
Good acting
Great dialogue
Thematically, there's a little bit here and there about the concept of honor... but really it's mostly meta-commentary about film (it's a movie about movies)
Tarentino's big contribution to american film is tapping into an alternate visual heritage that american never knew they had.
>>69032317
It's not bad
It's pretty solid actually. It relies too much on narrative gimmicky and witty dialog that is ultimately in service of a cleverly structured plot that has little to say and even less emotion to convey. Tarantino's best movie is Jackie Brown because it isn't hampered by narrative tricks and it actually has an emotionally resonant idea driving the story and the characters.
>>69033214
I think its because he has colorful witty films, he has never really made (besides jacky brown) a 'boring' movie. His movies might suck but atleast they keep you engaged from start to finish

The movie itself is great, it's sin is the legion of shitty knock offs that plagued the 90s.
>>69033355
they don't suck, stop falling for the memes.
>please like the things I like!!!
>>69032317
It isn't bad, just overrated by plebs.
>>69032708
Very much this. Saw Pulp Fiction again over the weekend for the first time in a long long while and was pleasantly surprised at how entertaining it still is. All the stories are different enough, but with similar feels to them so it hangs together cohesively as a film. It's an interesting mix of weird shit and realistic crime drama as well.
Kill Bill was the last good film Tarantino did though. The studios gave him free reign to do what he wanted with that and the ego boost completely destroyed his ability to think critically about his own work so he's just churned out a bunch of self indulgent wankfests since.
>>69032317
The movie was fine.
It's just hipsters being contrarians. No one is pretending it was the best movie ever except the contrarians trying to tear it down. I'm not a fan of the director but it was a genuinely good and entertaining movie that I've watched a few times. I can't really think of a single problem with it. People quoting a movie doesn't make the movie bad, fucking get over yourselves , kidults.
>>69032317
Nothing wrong.
It's a good movie and /tv/ is just full of hipster faggots.
Why do redditors always have to reaffirm their opinions with others?
>>69032317
It's one of those movies that is too popular, like Smells like Teen Spirit, hating it is the 4chan thing to do, since if we said we like it we wouldn't be no different than reddit.
>>69032736
yeah
BACK THEN
>>69033768
Who's talking about hating it, besides OP? Tarantino is often ridiculed for his nigger and foot fetishism and how he likes to pretend to be patrician but that doesn't mean /tv/ hates Pulp Fiction.
>>69032509
this!
pulp fiction promotes negro-worship
>>69033768
>we wouldn't be no different
Found the nigger. Do you like Tarantino because he makes you feel like a strong bull?
>>69032317
It's a meme movie that's only praised for a few good quotes.
>>69033932
Yeah pretty much, it's not like he's as good as Mallick, but still.
>>69032708
Kinda agree, hateful eight was fun, all his other post 90s movies are shit
>>69034001
It actually isn't.
I get its not perfect, but its plot structure is one of the most brilliant of the 90's,
>>69034001
>Everything is a meme/reddit/tumblr/pol/cuck now
Jesus christ form an actual opinion of your own for once you fucking faggot.
It's the best flick ever made.
>>69034395
>>69034439
jk, it's an alright movie though it pretty forgettable if i'm honest.
I prefered the plot structure of Tarantino's latest 3 films over his earlier ones
>popular must be bad
>>69034706
He made Hyperlink Movies popular by himself, he's a post-modernist genius, fuck off, you're just trying to be a contrarian
>>69034706
>Implying Pulp Fiction plot structure is anything like his earlier movies
>Implying Hateful Eight isn't 1800's Reservoir Dogs
>Liking the same plot twice aka Django and Inglorious Basterds
>>69032910
hello there reddit
>>69033235
>death proof
It's a wank off. Homage to 70's b-movies? No, it's a ego trip tour de force. Tarantino should've just filmed himself masturbating for an hour. You still probably would enjoy that, though.
>>69032317
Nothing, literally only contrarians say they don't like this movie. It's a masterpiece

That is a fucking beautifully composed shot. And he does it with nothing more than four cheap actors, three rubber guns, and a rented Dennys location.
