I'm all up for these type of movies, but even I found this one to be ridiculous garbage.
Her character is basically a self absorbed piece of shit that's unhappy for the sake of being unhappy. Then she travels all over because of course she's rich but oh so miserable by the way, and she learns absolutely nothing because she's and awful and selfish person.
I stopped watching after the praying part, which was bullshit as well, because I couldn't bear it anymore.

I'd say don't waste your time watching because it doesn't even have good visuals like Midnight in Paris (which I was expecting at least) so it's just awful.

I only watched it because it was on TV and I was curious. Watch the one with Meg Ryan and Matthew Broderick instead. That was a fun watch.

I was drawing a blank about a similar movie to show how shit this one is, and upon looking at the catalog Amelie is in about the same vein, but it's a million times better.
Visually gorgeous to start, it's about finding yourself as well, and the main character is just adorable.
Eat pray love just sucks cock in comparison.
