The Wolf of Wall Street Tryhard: The Movie
The two are not very alike
>>69018269
The part with Margot Robbie in the jacuzzi was cringiest as fuck
The Big Short is objectively better
Prove me wrong
>>69018683
There were a few parts like that, that were obviously trying to be Scorcese-esque.
I cringed internally so hard while watching that shit.
But it was nothing at all like The Wolf of Wall Street
>they're just going to blame it on immigrants and poor people
>says it again 20 seconds later
Conpletely ruined the movie
Wolf of Wall Street was unwatchable dreck tho
>>69019468
>shitty people make tons of money exploiting financial loopholes
seems pretty similar desu. only difference is belfort didn't have as much press or as many victims as the housing bubble. He also made less money.
>wolf of wall street is just about to go into details of belfort's scam
>lol, wait, ur stumb, here tits
>big short about to go into details of housing bubble
>lol, wait, ur dupid, here tits
thanks hollywood
>>69018445
This. Even the humor isn't the same.
>>69018683
this.
what a fucking joke.
>>69018683
That "celebrity factoid" shit was indeed clingy as fuck. I don't even know who that woman is, and I think there was some other one where I didn't know who they were (but apparently some big celebrity)

Congratulations. You have become so spastic you are taking light hearted humor bits from a movie so seriously to the point that your innards shrivel up at gentle fun.
How does it feel to be THAT sensitive to reality?
>>69019537
Fuck poor people desu senpai
Who really gives a care about them, I sleep fine at night. Literal cancer of society
>>69022171
When you're not actually dumb, its grating to be treated as such.
Something you'll likely never have to worry about though.
>two films about finance and investment
>they must be the same
>>69022185
I realize you're b8n, but its weird that people actually think that way.
>>69022268
They're more similar than they are dissimilar though.
>>69022171
it ruins the flow of the movie you pleb
>>69021996
>>shitty people make tons of money exploiting financial loopholes
So BvS and Capital America: CW are the same, because there are superheroes fighting each other. If so, why don't they receive the audience ratings?
Also,
Big short
>hedge funds
>multiple main characters
>complex financial instruments involving the financial crisis
>bigger bucks
Wolf of wallstreet
>one single main character
>from poor to rich
>doing individual stocks and not betting on the bubble, IIRC
>too long
>>69022327
Well, the entire point of the big short was to make people feel like they can't understand what happened, while explaining what happened, and using as many cheap tactics as possible to make the information as difficult to absorb as possible.
>>69022268
>A quadrillion capeshit films in a span of a couple years all basically of the same template
>crickets
>two finance films totally different
>waaah there's too many what's the point
>>69022320
That could be said about any films.
>>69021996
you clearly didn't understand the fucking point of the movie. Get the fuck out, normie.
>>69018445
OP here. I'm actually a pubescent who thinks any two movies about finances are the same or similar even if they're completely different.
>>69022320
They just happen to share a common backdrop. The movies are completely different in tone and actual substance. Wolf of Wall Street is made for people with little finance literacy and illustrates greed from a personal level, while the Big Short is primarily an insight into the financial crisis that spawned a recession covering half a decade. It takes a decent level of finance acumen to fully understand the Big Short, but a lot of things are spelled out in layman's terms for the general audience since its main purpose is to educate, whereas Wolf of Wall Street is just to entertain.
>>69022416
Feel free to elaborate on that. Tell me how Dune is more similar to Kramer vs Kramer than dissimilar.
>>69022487
I meant to say about films with have similar topics, such as The Ring and The Grudge, or Goodfellas and Scarface
>>69022474
A small number of people make millions by getting people to invest in worthless shit.
Which movie am I describing.
Are there any intriguing movies about finance and/or Wall Street that aren't just "bankers are assholes, amirite liberals?"
>>69022618
>a pro-banker movie
... uh
>>69022659
Banking is a profession, not a fucking ideology.
>>69022618
I know rite. Why aren't there any movies that put the IRS in a good light??
>>69022700
Banking is getting paid to spend other people's money.
>>69022425
You've been itching to post that for a while, haven't you.
>>69022223
Haha, nice try.
>>69022327
I would agree if they didn't do it two other times with the chef and Selena Gomez.
>>69022614
big short or wall street
