so home video technology is finally completed after about 35 years? I don't really follow movies anymore so I just found out that 4k blurays finally came out last month.

4k = newblu = 35 mm
2k = bluray = 16mm
1k = dvd = 8mm

and 70mm is really a misnomer right? to tell a difference you'd need to get close enough to the screen that you either couldn't see the whole thing at once or it would warp right?

A lot of the current releases are 2k masters, even though the were originally shot in 2.8k or 5k

I think it's basically over but because of HDR, not 4k.
It makes all the difference in the world and the technology allows now for even bigger screens that weight less than 20 pounds.
