Thought this was going to be a shitty slacker comedy because the trailer and poster showed a shitty CGI alien. Then I saw the actual movie on TV and it was actually pretty good. I didn't even know Simon Pegg was starring because I gave no attention to this when it was released.

When I first saw it I was very underwhelmed. I suppose you go in thinking it will retain the Edgar Wright feel to it but it doesn't. However on rewatch I fucking loved it. All the jokes land and the cast is fucking incredible.
