I want a new Matrix movie.

I want a movie that has the same impact on culture as The Matrix, but is an original IP.
Watch this instead.
I want a new matrix movie with a black or female lead
>Implying the next Matrix movie won't all be about trans rights and oppression by CIS shitlords
>>68986557
So you want Niobe to be the next lead.
The only series I think needs a reboot, but only for its sequels
>>68986564
sadly
Reminder that Smith was The One, not Neo
>new matrix movie trailer
>it's a reboot of the franchise for a new generation
>directed by The Wachowski Siblings
>ScarJo as the One
>Trinity is still the love interest but Chloe Moretz plays her.
>Smith is actually a female now.
>The Oracle is played by Whoopie Goldberg
>morpheous is Terry Crews.
>>68986748
>>morpheus is Terry Crews.
I can get behind that
>the Wachowski brothers
>brothers
>>68986406
What exactly made The Matrix so fucking badass? I'm trying to figure this out.
Obviously they've got the whole Monomyth thing/the amalgamation of various Eastern and Western philosophical shit, but what was the thing that made it stick?
>>68986693
>character is called The One
>there are still several other characters in the movie
>>68986918
The slow motion kicking
>>68986406
I wan't new sequels to the first one
>>68986988
That's true, Bullet Time was fucking revolutionary.
You start to wonder what the modern equivalent is, but truth be told there hasn't been a technique that's been copied as much as that was in recent times.

The Animatrix is the closest you can get.
I fucking loved A Detective Story by the way. Reminded me of Cowboy Bebop a little.
>>68987227
That was probably the most important and amazing story.
>>68986406
Na, one Matrix movie is enough
>>68987281
A lot of people would say Second Renaissance 1 and 2 were the most important.
Regardless, I haven't seen anything other than the original and most of Animatrix, and Animatrix was probably the most fascinating sci-fi I've seen in years.

>Reminded me of Cowboy Bebop a little.
same director
If there was a new animatrix who would you want directing new short films?
>>68987897
Shinichiro Watanabe
Yoshitoshi AbE
Katsuhiro Otomo
Koji Morimoto
Along with the original short directors if they were down for a sequel
>>68986406
will probably get the same cast as the current ghostbusters movie
all relationships are gender fluid transsexual
>>68987897
personally I'd like so see some non jap directors like Tartakovsky or Sylvian Chomet take a crack at it
>>68986748
>>morpheous is Terry Crews.
naw
>>68986748
i am fine with this

Humans, so creative and advanced that they created an eternal nano machine cloud that is still working like 1000 years later.
However so stupid that they couldn't just rain down nanomachines on the planet on a global scale with the order to turn and reduce everything back to the Stone Age or at least the Bronze Age by decomposing all the robots, which would save humanity in the progress and the only drawback would be having to start all over again with stone or bronze tools but with the benefit of modern knowledge like 4 field crop rotation system.
