Have you seen Chef?
What did you think?
I don't think it's a very good movie, but I liked it anyway
>>68976094
why does scarlett johanson has to be in every fucking movie?
>>68976279
She's only in for the first 10 minutes or so.
>>68976279
the worst part is that her role is so irrelevant. like shes in for maybe 20 minutes then its never again
Hey, that's pretty good
>>68976094
I like cubans, the sandwich, so I enjoyed this.
ScarJo was a fuck buddy, that much was obvious. You could also argue that Robert Downey Junior wasn't in the movie enough but it's obviously just a passing character on a journey.
>>68976094
I watched it with my gf, it was a decent lighthearted film
I saw it and I couldn't help thinking Jon Favreau just wanted an excuse to make sandwiches and eat them on the studio's dime
I wanted beautiful steaks and seafood
But I got sandwiches
>>68977418
What are you, fucking gay?
Jon Favreau is like the unKEKED version of Louie C.K.
This movie was a total vanity project.
>>68976094
I actually don't like this term but it is an extremely comfy film
Literally pure fantasy with 0 conflict whatsoever after the first half.
It's a family flick.
>>68976279
>In every Favreau movie
He likes her.
Even gave her a voice roll in Jungle Book. Flat out changed a character's gender to fit her in.
>>68976094
m'nam ee cheeeeeeeeeeeef
Who else here put flour on their werewolves during a humid night after watching this movie
Is this what's called comfy?

Versailles is a great Cuban restaurant.
If you have a chance when you visit Miami definitely go there.
It wasn't long enough, I wanted a road movie where he cooks across America, but it came off as a bit rushed.
>>68976094
Very comfy movie. A classic feel-good comedy with a good message for kids:
>follow your passion
>>68981204
i think the message was: kids are so fucking confident with iphone and twitter
damnnnnn
>>68980501
La Carreta dosent come close to this place !
>>68980581
This would have been so good.

It's a metaphor for Favreau's life after Iron man and his return to the stuff he really wanted to make without being tied by studios as embodied by his restaurant owner.
>>68976094
Decent movie but I cant listen to people act pretentious about food without cringing hard. I like cuisine more than most guys but its just a fucking sandwich. Was this the movie with the "tweets" being visualized on screen?
>>68983673
I actually got this vibe too. Only thing is Favreau has never made non-mainstream movies
Alls I know is I made a monster grilled cheese after watching it...
I wrote this off when I learned he made Sofia Vergara his wife. pretty self-indulgent
>>68978212
I watched it with your gf's son, it was a pretty good movie
>>68980501
>that floor layout
kek
Also, why foldup tables?
I've always wanted to maybe sometime see this.
I just can't bring myself to consuming it.
It was good.
>>68985423
My nigga
>>68976094
I enjoyed it wholeheartedly.
Surprisingly good.
>>68978291
this right here. I was more interested in the sweet breads he was talking about at the beginning. Instead it was just about glorified ham and cheese sandwiches.
>>68979201
Aw, hell yeah
he isn't a shouty Gordon Ramsey rip-off is he
>>68976131
Basically this. I had a lot of issues with the film, and a lot of things coming out of people's mouths is shit, but as a whole I enjoy the movie. It's not bad, it has issues, but it's likeable.

Downey and ScarJo were only in the movie to sell more tickets as a favor to Favreau for reinvigorating their careers. I can't imagine they got paid much. The fact they're both on the poster is a fucking joke.
DUDE TWITTER LMAO
Pretty comfy. Food porn too
>>68985423
I wanted to make one so damn bad
is domino's molten lava cake any good?
>>68979915
yes anon, it's comfy, good observation
>>68976094
My biggest take-away from this movie was that I suddenly realized how much I wanted to fuck Scarlett Johansson after making her Pasta
It inspired me to start really cooking top quality food.
For about 10 minutes. Then I just put some semi-cooked microwavable White Castle sliders into my fat face and puked all night.
>>68976094
saw it in theaters with my dad
liked it
>>68987331
to be fair microwaved White Castle sliders are good as fuck. You can even fancy it up with chopped pickles and onions and a slice of cheddar
In all seriousness. It was corny as fuck.
>>68987055
molten lava cake is good anywhere. Id eat it out of a dumpster. If you want to be a true gentleman fancy fuck you gotta get white chocolate and strawberry lava cake from Chili's
Only moronic plebs think any of the food in it was good or made with any decent level of techniques.
The rest is family-film tier trash.
>>68987604
>to be a true gentleman
>lava cake from Chili's
>>68985562
mother fucker
does she come out in lingerie?
>>68985714
they don't look fold up, but they look cheap. i think they were going for the banquet room vibe. it might just be a banquet room anyway
>>68987669
thats the joke
Chef that feels trapped by a shitty restauranteur and dreams of just cooking across america breaks free of his chains and does so. During the journey he reconnects with his son and heals the rift with his ex, now that he's free.
At the end of the movie he goes to work for another restauranteur in a restaurant and basically gives up the food truck.
the movie is fucking stupid
