>UNDER AGE OF ULTRON
BOMBA CONFIRMED!!
only 1.2 billion!
>money = good
This thinking is why Cameron couldn't understand why Avatar didn't sweep the Oscars.
>>68969250
>a movie named Captain America makes less money than a movie named Avengers
Stop the presses.
>>68969250
how high was the AoU opening overseas?
>>68969400
>>68969250
>>68969642
AoU
>44 markets
>200.2 million
Civil War
>37 markets
>200.2 million
Why is OP saying it made under AoU? It's clearly doing better than AoU.
I think Civil War will do great.
The word of mouth has been extremely positive.

>Disney's movies are eating each other's profits
Damn, man.
>>68969250
>Captain America doesn't do well in places that aren't America
Commies can't handle his freedom. This is to be expected.

Ultron
>The Disney/Marvel mash-up kicked off its career in 44 markets representing 55% of its international footprint,
>Civil War is open in 63% of its international footprint
BOMBA BOMBA BOMBA
1.2 BILLION BOMBA
>>68969250
and how'd bvs do?
>>68971696
In the end, the film will earn around $330m in America, or just under 2x its opening weekend. That’s the lowest multiplier for a big-budget comic book movie outside of Zack Snyder’s Watchmen and Jonah Hex.
The film flamed out overseas as well, earning 46% of its eventual over/under $550 million overseas cume in those first five days, easily the worst multiplier for a big opener.

Pretty good, I think. Lots of people had pre-reserved or some shit, because it was so anticipated, so tickets were hugely inflated, and subsequently fell off a cliff. CW isn't considered some movie of the decade, which BvS could have had the potential to be, what with fucking Bats and Supes, two of the most recognizable characters in human history, going at it.
>>68970001
>Why is OP saying it made under AoU? It's clearly doing better than AoU.
Facts get in the way of memeing

Whoa.

Abraham and Jesus? Zack Snider should make Abraham vs Jesus.

Are you stupid? I didn't say THE most.

If AoU's 44 markets = 55% of it's international footprint, and CW's 37 markets = 65% of it's international footprint, what does this tell us of their total markets and box office?
>>68972197
Batman and Superman wouldn't even be top 500 I'd bet. Two figures that didn't exist before what, 1940? And even then, they were the two biggest figures in a niche entertainment genre. The Superman movies were in the 1980's, so really you gotta start there. But even that might be too early.
I bet Alexander the Great is more famous historically than Batman or Superman. So that's at least 3. Hitler. Everyone knows Hitler. 4. There's at least 4 people who've been more famous throughout history than Superman or Batman.
>>68972403
>SOMEHOW 55% IS MORE THAN 63%!!
>MARKETS THAT MAKE LESS THAN A FEW 100 THOUSAND A WEEK DON'T EXIST
>ULTRON DIDN'T EVEN OPEN IN JAPAN UNTIL LATER SO THAT'S EVEN MORE MILLIONS THAT CIVIL WAR WON'T GET
BOMBA

Alexander the great wont give you 400 million opening week, not even alexander vs hitler, dawn of napoleon would bring in that kind of box office draw

Are you telling me that whoever Sam Worthington played in Avatar is the most popular character in history?
>>68972161

No not at all, but its not just avatar, its James Camerons Avatar, his name is what drew people to theaters.

Civil War
>200.2M in 37 territories
AoU
>200.2M in 44 markets
I-I don't get it. This doesn't sound like it's bombing.

Should have made this be Avengers 3
And then made another spy flick for captain America 3. With AIM or return of Red Skull
Or just not make Age of Ultron because it was shit
>>68973111
I think the point is that Civil war is making the same money as ultron despite being release in less countries.
