Bruce had spent the entire movie seeing Supes as an alien, but then when he heard his mother's name he remembered her death and saw himself as Joe Chill killing a relatively nother human being who had no malicious intent. He was so caught up in hating the alien that he did not even care what his secret identity was or who his adoptive moms name was.
He then went off to save his mom as penance for attempted murder.

For the last point, I'm pretty sure they couldn't since they had nothing to cut him with to study him.

Valid. That was a little contrived, but he did try to talk to him at first. I think he was trying to cow him but got blindsided by his first exposure to kryptonite. I'm also half-convinced he spent a good portion of that fight unable to talk. He did inhale that kryptonite, after all, though it still could have used more visible cues to drive that point home.

They didn't bury him. The "official" burial of Superman was an empty coffin, as indicated by the jets flying in the Missing Man formation. Bruce and Diana worked with Lois to maintain Clark's secret, most likely saying he was vaporized in the last explosion.

He should have kept trying instead of shoving him across a building and then tackling him clear through an empty one. *That's* what superman would do.

Except it never felt like he did what he did out of heroism because they never discussed the option. WW was godlike in the fight scene with Doomsday, she even chopped his fucking hand off, she was clearly better at dealing with him.

That, I agree with. They could have so easily presented in blatant terms that the k-gas rendered him unable to speak, I'd have bought that in a minute.

Well, I look at it as Clark sees Diana has him temporarily restrained, sees Bruce temporarily weakened him with that k-grenade, and Clark sees this as possibly the best chance they're going to get and just goes for it.
