What does /tv/ think of Heat?

Also Pacino and Dinero movie thread

Good movie

diner scene best scene

Also don't worry about deniro and his declining quality of acting, it's all a ploy to cement him as king in the coming centuries of film.
>>
>>68957939
The Diner scene was improvised which is cool. They just let Dinero and Pacino do their thing.
>>
>the modern family

what did he mean by this?
>>

Also, would it be so wrong to groom Natalie Portman, Woody Allen style?

It has a whole lot going on. I prefer Thief for its focus, when you throw in a cop and a bunch of other criminals I think things get too loose. I should watch it again though, I feel like I didn't give it the attention it deserved first time around.

What was the deal with Pacino, why'd he turn into a crazy clown during a couple of scenes?
>>
>>68958595
He is a recovering coke addict or something I read.

I like the scene where he takes the TV away from the guy who slept with his wife and gets angry
>>
>>68958635
I liked how he was more outraged at the idea of another man watching his tv than fucking his wife.

Also, is Heat the only movie where a character is a native Injun and it isn't brought up in any way? Pretty sure one of Pacino's main guys in the movie is the shaman from Dances With Wolves.

>Interesting plot
>Possibly the greatest shootout in cinematic history
>Fantastic cinematography and direction
>2 of the best actors of all time in the lead
>Well written dialogue and characters

In my opinion it's one of the best crime films ever created.
>>
>>68959940
>great soundtrack and sound
>perfect cast
>no typical hollywood ending

it's one of the best crime movies of the 90s if not of all time.

I completely agree. It's also just a beautiful film to look at, nobody can capture LA like Michael Mann.

9/10 Wopkino

>>68957885
It's a fantastic movie and if you haven't watched it you should. It looks great and DeNiro and Pacino give powerful performances
>>
>>68957885
it is my favorite movie. i just love the mood it creates by pace, music and these oddly calm, meditative pictures.

Every time im in a boring uni lecture i think of peep show

Mark Corrigan: [whispering] As far as I can make can out, we get to go out for a bit in a hour. Then we have to come back for two hours.
Jeremy Usborne: You're kidding. I think I'll die.
Mark Corrigan: If this was on television, no one would be watching.
Jeremy Usborne: Oh God. We aren't we watching television?
Mark Corrigan: I can't believe coming here cost more than a film.
Jeremy Usborne: I've got Heat on DVD at home. We're watching this, when for less money, we could be watching Robert De Niro AND Al Pacino.
Paula: Shhh.
Mark Corrigan: I'm going to pretend I am watching Heat.
Jeremy Usborne: OK. Let's pretend we're just watching Heat.

The atmosphere it produces is gripping. It is overwhelmingly good
>>
One of my favorite movies of all time.

I watched Righteous Kill and liked it even more.
>>
Watching it right now for the i-don't-even-know-anymore time. Top 10, all time fave stuff.

Slightly edges out Blackhat for Mann's best
