it is a great film with unique storytelling, when i watched it for the first time it didnt feel like some random (but good) american black and white movie from the 40's, it almost felt like a movie made today wich is something uncanny
and try to watch foreing film and american ones from the silent era

Good for you. I also recommend some of Kurosawa's movies like Seven Samurai, Ikiru, Rashomon, High & Low and Yojimbo. Personally I think Throne Of Blood is a little overrated.
