What does /tv/ think of Richard Ayoade?
Personally he's one of my favourite media figures. I think he was great on the IT Crowd and I adored Submarine and The Double. Currently halfway thru his new series Travel Man and loving it as well.
I liked him as Dean Lerner, and that's about it.

Haven't seen It Crowd. I really liked The Double, was expecting to hate it cause I hate Eisenberg but it was really good.
Submarine I barely remember because I was super stoned when watching, but I remember enjoying it.

One of my fave comedy actors.
IT Crowd was great but inconsistent. Seemed to be half excellent episodes and half good episodes, though they all had their moments. Ayoade was perfect as Moss.
Haven't seen his writing/directing stuff but he always seems genuinely funny doing panel show stuff, in a similar style to David Mitchell (pic related).

I made a mistake of reading a youtube comment for the trailer to that and without hyperbole someone said "that black guy is really out of place, he's like a fourth wheel."
He is GOAT in Darkplace and does well on panel shows and his travel shows. Some of the IT Crowd is funny but it gets old quickly, the theatre episode has me in tears every time.
