I think Pizzawizard totally fucked up when he abandoned the supernatural-themed stuff he had planned for 2, 2 is just so full of potential but so lacking at the same time, I totally buy the story that he was rushed, whereas he had been writing season 1 for himself for years, it was originally supposed to be a novel

I really do feel that they should have cut gay cop entirely from the series. I'm not sure how to describe it, but its like his story didnt push the overall narrative. He felt like filler, and only became relevant at the end when Velcoro wasn't able to be in the spot light.

The only complaint I can possibly file against True Detective is that it's a very good show taitned with HBO's typical fan-service tendencies, which isn't bad on its own but takes up time that could have been spent on something more interesting

The timing of the pan to the helicopter when they went out of the house gave me a boner desu. At first I thought it was done to mask a cut but apparently it's all a single take.
Also, watching it the second time, I realized how fucking nuts it must have been to film them going over the fence. Then I read about it and true enough, they had real trouble with that moment.
