I think he means the sort of trajectory the show takes is preplanned. It's clear a lot of the early episodes are sort of just the best of from 3 days of shooting, but the later ones are much more elaborate to where from a production standpoint you'd have to plot out everything beforehand.
It's been stated in another thread on /tv/ a while back that the sound guy (his name starts with a D I think?) was saying that they did have to do reshoots at times.
