The only thing that really saves it is the ending. Arnie was honestly wasted in it. Genysis was better in terms of utilizing Arnie, but fucked up Sarah and pretty much every other character. I know it sounds like typical /tv/ contrarianism, but I truly think Salvation was leagues above both. The only problem is that it doesn't feel like a traditional Terminator movie at all because the Terminator isn't the bad guy, and it's not a chase movie.

I don't know about that, I mostly rate them according to how cool the villains are and other than TSCC I don't like any of them very much at all.

Yeah, but like >>68915317 said, the twist ending is what sets it apart. If it weren't for that, it would have just been a pale imitation of T2.
I honestly didn't mind Genesys as much as I thought I would. In fact, I actually like everything in the movie until they leave '84. It kind of falls apart after that.
