owls were a manifestation of BOB. ms. palmer saw BOB because he wasinhabiting Leland's body, so every time you saw BOB it was actually Leland.
the last question is kind of hard to answer because it's kind of typical Lynch to not have explanations for parts of his work. i think, in that case, there's no real answer as to how he was able to get in and the thing about the giant other than "just because."
oh also, how did Windom know about Audrey, Donna, and Shelly before he even met them?
