Victory Gundam is best Gundam.
It captures the feeling of random loss in war better than any Gundam series and has a consistent melancholy and depressing tone throughout. The OST is also fantastic and reinforces it's themes while being very emotional at the same time.

Magnetic Rose i would argue is probably the perfect animation. Not too long, not too short. Get's its ideas across, great characters - with little moments from their past hinted at and revealed, excellent animation and art, perfect pacing. Plus, one of the best scenes in animation where the opera rose is singing into the vast vacuum of space signifying her "lost/unheard" voice. As Hans after all the struggle in his life finally gets to rest in peace among the stars.
