The fact that so many books still name the Beatles "the greatest or most significant or most influential" rock band ever only tells you how far rock music still is from becoming a serious art. Jazz critics have long recognized that the greatest jazz musicians of all times are Duke Ellington and John Coltrane, who were not the most famous or richest or best sellers of their times, let alone of all times. Classical critics rank the highly controversial Beethoven over classical musicians who were highly popular in courts around Europe. Rock critics are still blinded by commercial success: the Beatles sold more than anyone else (not true, by the way), therefore they must have been the greatest. Jazz critics grow up listening to a lot of jazz music of the past, classical critics grow up listening to a lot of classical music of the past. Rock critics are often totally ignorant of the rock music of the past, they barely know the best sellers. No wonder they will think that the Beatles did anything worth of being saved.

I'm honestly convinced 99 percent of people that hate inception were just too stupid to understand what was going on in the movie. I mean, i get it, I wouldn't like a movie either if i had no clue wtf was going on from start to finish.
I didn't think there were many people that dumb(the movie really isn't that complicated) but every time i have ran into someone running their mouth off about inception, they couldn't actually tell me what happened in the movie.

Inception is easy to follow and understand. Primer is complicated, Inception is not. But I don't like Inception. Do you really think the only reason to not like a movie that has slight complexity is inability to comprehend this slight complexity? Well in that case you are the one who can barely understand what's going on in this film and see this is as the main reason for love or hate, not me, because it's absolutely easy to follow for me, it's linear. Real reasons to not like it are the fact that Nolan blatantly steal ideas and scenes from other films (Dreamscape, Paprika etc), the fact that this film does not carry philosophical depth and ideas like, say, Sátántangó, the fact that it has poor acting compared to, say, The Godfather, the fact that is has poor cinematography compared to, say, Citizen Kane etc. It is just another modern blockbuster with bright picture, no shadows and no out of focus image, no meaning and no acting, that is no different from others like Avengers or whatever.
