Oh, man.

>Blockbuster

If you were an autistic wanker with no friends and no knowledge on how to MAKE friends, it was like a "home away from home". You could spend literally hours browsing the aisles, reading the back-cover descriptions of movies you may never get around to watching, or marvel at the graphic special effects they would use for "teaser" back-covers for horror flicks.

If you were a REAL spergtard like I am, it would go even further than that. Here in Australia, we have classification ratings that would roughly describe what it is that made the classification of a film what it was, and not much delighted me more than to see something like the box-art for Peter Jackson's gory masterpiece Brain Dead (1992) and nearly squeal like a giddy, teenaged schoolgirl with glee, when I find that it's rated "R18+ (restricted to adults over the age of 18) with High Level Violence and Horror Themes".

My local Video Flicks, which later became Blockbuster, provided me with some of the best memories of my otherwise disgustingly-pitiable life.

I miss video stores. I realize that I hate having such easy access to movies now because it takes all the magic out of it. Walking through blockbuster, seeing all the VHS/DVD boxes, asking the cashier what's good right now, then taking it home to watch with a friend was all part of the experience.

There is no magic scrolling through torrrents or Netflix.

Anyone feel the same way?

Your library had free film rentals? My local one charged but they had an awful selection. Only rented Kung Pow from there.

Block Buster was mostly for vidya for my brothers and I. Sometimes we'd get a film or two as well. Cycling there in the afternoon was my favourite. Although it was fun when my dad took us and we'd be able to read the cover and game manuals on the way home.

Pirates 1 was the most expensive porno ever. I watched it. It's actually really good. If you take the porn out, it's a cheesy B-movie.

Pirates 2 had better sex scenes, Sasha Grey actually climaxes for real during her lesbian one, instead of faking it. Again, if you took out the porn, good stuff on it's on.
>>
>that Summer when Dad rented the megadrive for an entire week

Pirates 2 had ten times the budget of Pirates 1, friend. And yeah, the sex scenes are better, especially because they keep the extended cuts for the blu-ray/DVD, whereas in Pirates 1 we only get the really short ADD-edited versions.

I've always thought story makes porn hotter. When there's context, it creates a fantasy where characters are having hot sex, whereas when there is no context it's just a bunch of gross sluts getting pounded, about as sexy as watching insects eating roadkill.
