what dies /tv/ think of Man of Steel?
>>68879227
Great except for the drone part
>>68879227
First 20 minutes are gold.
Goes a bit down hill from there. Too much overuse of CGI but overall I really enjoyed the story.
it rhymes
>>68879234in all honesty, great film familia

>>68879227
Its about as good as Thor. Had better fights, Weaker CGI and stakes, but overall both are equal.

>Had better fights
It was better before BvS came out. There are flaws in Man of Steel and it never quite understands that brooding doesnt translate into a compelling protagonist. They turned Clark into Dr Manhattan who after growing to accept their powers starts to lose his humanity and become someone outside our understanding. I am not beholden to the idea of Superman being a boy scout reflection of the best of us its just that the opposite is really fucking hard to portray in cinema and still make us care about his journey. Instead I am trying to care about a walking statue mope about and then wreak havoc once he starts to give a shit about anything.
However that can be overlooked since it used to have potential. I could see the possibility of a long game where we would grow to like this new Superman as his further adventures allowed for some kind of arc. But BvS proved that there was no long game and we get another 2 hours of this character having not grown at all and whose actions and ethics change from moment to moment. It strips Man of Steel of its potential and makes it feel like a gigantic waste of time.

Watchmen was great all around.
>>68879448
Not as good as the Marvel movies.
>>68879869
Watchmen was a pale facsimile of the graphic novel, which would be fine if it weren't so slavishly devoted to recreating scenes from it without context. It's incredibly dumbed down garbage. But it did look good.

It was Snyder trying to make the same that Nolan did with Batman Begins (but with Superman) and he failed. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't what he was expecting it to be.
>>68879227
Great. By far the best dragonball z movie
>>68879955
put the source material aside, as a standalone movie it's great.
>>68879448
I honestly believe Thor has more natural, human writing and a more satisfying story that entertains the viewer by the end and leaves them with a nice feeling that they watched an alright 5/10 movie whereas Man of Steel tries to be great and make Superman some sort of holy figure but falls flat on its pretentious face while somehow being boring with all it's action.
does anyone have the Batman v Superman rotten tomatoes vs Civil War rotten tomatoes picture? I really need it and I don't have it
Snyder is good at casting desu.
>>68880044
Jaime Lee Curtis as Silk Spectre
IMAGINE
>>68880044
>robin williams as rorschach
retarded as fuck
>ron pearlman as comedian
might be cool
It's a total mess and failure. The opening is a cgi orgy with jarring expository dialogue which continues throughout the film. His earth father is a good case for the most stupid and/or morally reprehensible character in film (better a bus load of children die than anyone suspect you have super powers). His death is the most botched and laughable set piece imaginable. Strangely enough, it has no impact of the rest of the narrative as superman disregards his will straight after. From then on is a Transformers style fuck fest of cgi fighting that could only appeal to a simpleton. The ending is this hammy set up wear clearly killing zod is the right thing to do as he's literally straining his neck to incinerate some random bystanders; yet superman is supposed to feel conflicted or remorseful.
Contrarians in here feel irresistibly compelled to defend it by the fact that no one sane liked it. Ignore them. It's a dreadful film.

t. marvelfag
>>68880044
All except Matthew Goode. Ozymandias was magnetic and humourous in the comics, whereas that dude can only do creepy and ditached. Plus he looked nothing like him
>>68880362
Marvel films are shit too, just for different reasons.
>>68879227
boring, bad acting, bad score. superman returns is more interesting.
>>68879279
literally how
>dull acting from Russell Crowe and all of the Kryptonian councilors, Krypton is a video game cutscene
>>68880302
>(better a bus load of children die than anyone suspect you have super powers)
Something that always bothered me in the movie was that for all the YOU HAVE TO KEEP YOUR POWERS A SECRET, CLARK his dad was doing, the few people that did suspect anything had easily dismissed IT WAS AN ACT OF GAWD reasoning.
>>68879227
A movie so bad that claiming it to be good is always considered bait.
>>68880514
>lets give this child with super powers a god complex, that's always worked out when we've done that to any other child in the history of mankind
>>68880514
>ACT OF GAWD
fuck i forgot about that awful line
>>68880530
fuck you I liked it
>>68880044
Walter was perfect
DO IT
>>68880544
You're right anon, better to let those kids drown than actually do some parenting.
>>68880544
>give a child a god complex
>by saying it was admirable of him to save the children on the bus and especially the asshole bully who was picking on him
You are probably a really cool person in real life.
>It's a "/tv/ shitposts about Jonathan Kent" episode
>>68880581
yeah, shame the world isn't fair and thousands of kids die every day
>>68880598
they didn't just say "hey that's cool you saved those kids"
they sounded like they were on the verge of saying he was jesus reborn
>it's a daily MoS thread episode
