Manhunter or Red Dragon?
Hannibal S3
>>68870449
Based Mads
>>68870449
does anyone have a link to the scene in manhunter where graham puts together how the tooth fairy picks his victims? it's so well done
>>68870449
red dragon.
brian cox is good, but the lead actor in manhunter destroys the movie with his horrible performance.
by not going with the remake you're missing out on ralph fiennes perfect psycho performance and that fat blonde heroin addict in a supporting role.
also emily watson as "blind chick"
>>68870449
Give me cheeky Manhunter's Hannibal anytime
Silence of the Lambs > Manhunter > Show version of Red Dragon> Hannibal(movie) > Red Dragon
not even going to mention that stupid prequel movie they did.
>>68870449
Manhunter, my man.
Manhunter...easily. Red Dragon is a piece of shit directed by that Rush Hour guy.
Cox>Hopkins

Nice dubs, sport.

great scene indeed, completely disagree with >>68870934 I like peterson's graham more than the tv shows version. He feels more edgy.
>>68872460
>tv show
>>68870934
the only good thing in Red Dragon is ralph fiennes. norton sunk that movie with his bland boring performance.

STRONG AS I AM

always thought this was Peter Gabriel.
Red Dragon cuz Hopkins
i opened this thread just to sigh disgustedly at the plebs who like red dragon netter than manhunter
Red Dragon fucked up the tiger scene by giving her a stethoscope instead of putting her head on its chest. How do you fuck up something so simple. Unforgivable
I literally can't even imagine a world where Red Dragon is argued to be superior to Manhunter. It's a worse film in every way that a film can be judged.
Well... Red Dragon is probably better. Manhunter was quite... comfy though. Liked alot of it but I think Red Dragon was more intense and interesting, possibly too much so.
Manhunter was true blood 80s flick.
>>68870934
>horrible performance.
How? Will Graham is supposed to be a person on the edge of insanity who's scared of who he is. Peterson pulled that off. Very well. You can watch him lose it throughout the movie. Norton just looked bored.
>Mann directed masterpiece vs. Ratner directed mediocrity
Not even a fair competition, all Red Dragon really had going for it was Hopkins.
>that Bryan Fuller interview where he said he was inspired to make Hannibal by how terrible the Ratner movie was
>>68870449
Manhunter is the best Hannibal movie by a huge margin.

GOAT scene, mann fucking rules
Manhunter > Hannibal S3 > Red Dragon
Production values were way higher on Hannibal but Armitage's performance dragged it way down.
>>68873586
You contrarian faggot, you know Silence is the pinnacle. But no, you have to be THAT guy.
Manhunter vs. Silence of the Lambs is a fairer comparison, and even then Manhunter is the clear winner.
Red Dragon. Manhunter didnt age well
>>68873643
>muh opinions
lol grow up
>>68873668
>age
/v/eddit go home
Manhunter is pretty great but the worst scene in retrospect is Graham busting through the window to stop the dude. He could've just shot him through it.
>>68870449
Manhunter.
Red Dragon was closer to the book, but Norton and Hopkins didn't have the same impact that Petersen and Noonan did in Manhunter.
>>68870934
Tom Noonan was way better than Fiennes.
>>68870449
MANHUNTER
>80s nostalgia
>Green creep show lighting
>"Inagaddadavida" action sequence at the end (music is everything)
>ending is happier
>Miami Vice end credits song plays
Thread theme: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=foFw7djyELc
>>68873979
>ending is happier
one of the flaws imo, wish they had gone with a more bittersweet ending and given lecter his petty victory over will
>>68873643
>contrarian
I don't have a real argument: The Word
>>68874218
The movie takes you down a dark tunnel. It's like Legend. In the end you feel like you're suddenly out in the sun. I loved that feeling.
A bitter sweet ending would be more fitting for Silence of the Lambs. Silence of the lambs was kind of gothic and musty. Where as Manhunter was for lack of a better term...an 80 crime version of Legend.
>>68874218
the directors cut has this scene that delivers
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7hDMebB2ryM
>>68874761
What is it conveying there? I know he puts himself in the murderer's psych whenever he pursues them.
>>68875183
Will is scarred both physically and mentally by going into the mind of The Red Dragon. He drives all the way just to see them, as seeing was the primary way the red dragon felt a sense of belonging with a family.
>>68872460
As much I love the tv series, I prefer Petersen over Dancy. I believe is the chemistry between Mads and Hugh the only thing that save Dancy performance.
>>68870449
Manhunter because the actors, the music, the neon, the hair...
Manhunter but I like both of them
Come to think of it I enjoy all these movies except for Hannibal Rising, what a clusterfuck.
Manhunter > SOTL > Hannibal > Red Dragon
Based Dante Spinotti shot both Manhunter and Red Dragon
What went wrong?
Besides being fucking boring.
>>68877731
Nothing. It was okay, based ridley couldn't give two shits and still delivered
>>68877731
>>68877760
considering how the author went full retard, ridley saved it from being complete trash
>>68873668
yeah the music particularly makes it terribly dated
this is something mann likes to do, the same thing happens with collateral.
Manhunter, no contest.
>>68878068
>not liking Manhunter's soundtrack
