I actually like that episode. It's certainly more serious than usual (although season 7 had a lot of good "serious" episodes), but I found it to be pretty interesting. It was back when the Simpsons were still lower-middle class. For me it never entered mean-spirited territory, Marge was a bit of a jerk but the show knew it and her struggle was relatable.
Also I love this one-off character.
Can't/don't want to remember the name but the one where Homer becomes a helicopter parent. Especially the Black hawk down joke, that was embarrassing to watch.

Worst season 1 episode: Homer's Night Out. Dumb premise that appeals to the worst most stereotypical kind of sex-negative feminism. Also Marge is a complete hypocrite because she nearly cheated on Homer in literally the previous episode.
Worst golden age episode: There's a few contenders, but my personal least favorite is Canine Mutiny. I hate how mean Bart is to Santa's Little Helper.
Worst transition episode: Saddlesore Galactica. I hate the plot, I hate the annoying fourth-wall breaking "jokes" that are a poor attempt to cover up the fact that the episode's premise is rehashed, I hate the lazy animation, etc
Worst zombie episode: Too many to list, but definitely that fucking Gaga episode. I don't even think /tv/ could have dreamt that abomination up. It's celebrity worship at its worst, everyone in Springfield acts completely out of character, and Lisa's plot is awful.
