you have 10 seconds to explain why this isnt the most influential film of the French New Wave.
Go!
Because I've never heard of it
>yet another meme director
You fuckers are literally on the same level of open mindedness to kino as Michael bay fans.
>>68866983
>breathless
>never heard of it
are you trolling or did you literally join today?
>>68866858
Because Les Quatre cents coups and Hiroshima, mon amour exist. ABdS is obviously very influential, especially from a technical standpoint, but emotionally and artistically other films achieved and influenced much more.

this board sucks, it's all capeshit. no one here even watches films.
>>68867267
>using the french name
im not one of those dweebs that just goes around calling everything pretentious, but come on dude, that's kinda pretentious.
>>68867271
Godard is hardly better than capeshit. Its like watching breaking bad and feeling superior to the walking dead fans, kek
>now, about de souffle you were going to cook for me....
Jesus Christ, really?
>>68867334
nice bait i guess?
>>68867310
I'm sorry, that wasn't intended. In my language they're just referred to by their original name, so that's just what I'm used to using. I just saw OP's (yours?) picture and went on auto pilot.
>>68867358
Nope. You are literally not any better than transformers fans. You're still being spoonfed taste. Its just with Michael bay its commercials and with meme directors like godard its stuff you found on your first day on /TV/.
>>68867382
oh sorry lol i feel bad now
>>68867358
your mother sucks big elephant cocks
>>68867413
Look around this board right now. Try to find even one other post about Godard.
>>68867484
That's like a teenager saying bu-but noone in my class like Wes anderson!!!
It doesn't matter. You're being spoonfed the taste so it doesn't count, and plus cognitive dissonance you little cuck
>>68867742
Kill yourself
>>68867757
My only job is to show you how unspecial you are. Seems it worked senpai
>>68867742
You seem to think my taste is limited to Godard.
>>68866858
Because I don't like it, pleb.
>>68869374
what do you like then? go ahead, tell me.
>>68867892
>my only job
well that part is accurate at least
Post 1970's Godard is superior
>>68866858
Is Hiroshima Mon Amour considered FNW? Because it may be a tie.
>>68866858
DUDE
JUMP CUTS
LMAO
>>68867382
one anon told the same bullshit to me a while ago because I said Nouvelle Vague instead of French New Wave
some people...
>>68866858
>most influential?
maybe, 400 coups is also very infulential
>best?
not even a good film
>>68869758
how is it not a good film?
>>68869807
utterly pointless
not visually interesting anymore
>>68866858
Bresson's work was arguably more "influential" for the movement since he basically prefigured/ started the French new wave. Band of outsiders and Pierrot le Feu from Godard I feel are more representative of the movement (and of Godards vision) and had more of an influence on future American films.
