Why are people surprised the spinosaurus kicked T-Rex's ass?
>>
>>68864646
Turns out Spinosaurus was more adapted to fishing. It's teeth were hollow, more suited for grabbing slippery fish. Also, the T-Rex scavenger thing was just put in the film so Jack Horner could circle jerk his scavenging theory. T-Rex would have kicked Spino's ass, as it had a far more powerful bite force which would hand killed or crippled Spino with the first bite.

Jack Horner's scavenging theory has long been disproved.

Just like the feathered dinosaur bullshit.

The whole "TRex Scavenger" shit is based around a fallacy, which is the fact that they found ONE T-Rex with an anomalous femur structure that wouldn't have allowed it to run.

ONE skeleton with ONE lame femur. ONE. It was enough for Jack Horner to think ALL T-Rexes couldn't run, instead of thinking maybe this one single individual had been born lame and had been lucky enough to reach adulthood. It's worth mentioning that Horner never backed up his claims with actual evidence.

http://phenomena.nationalgeographic.com/2013/07/16/time-to-slay-the-t-rex-scavenger-debate/
http://news.discovery.com/animals/dinosaurs/trex-was-predator-not-scavenger-130716.htm

Also, the T-Rex might've been smaller than the Spinosaurus, but the T-Rex outweighted the Spino by half the Spino's weight and was literally built like a tank. His thick ribcage acted like armor plates agaisnt bites and his stupidly thick neck musculature protected his neck arteries and spinal cord agaisnt damage, and not only gave him superior bite strength but meant he could effectively use it's own head as a weapon agaisnt other animals (much like a giraffe),

Besides everyone accepts, based on bones found, that the TRex often took on and sucesfully preyed on other animals larger than itself. The Spinosaurus mostly ate fish and wouldn't put up a fight agaisnt larger animals.

Also, new evidence points that Rexes were capable of hunting in coordinated packs of 8 to 12 individuals, and often did so to their own benefit, even if the other Rexes were complete strangers.

Do you think dinosaurs turned into birds?
>>
>>68865529
what do you think a chicken is
>>

Holy fucking shit. Notion of 12 T rexes chasing you.
>>
>>68865150

No, you fuck off with your giant chicken fetish and Alan Grant fandom.

Dinosaurs didn't have feathers because this notion is idiotic and if it was true it would mean Dinosaurs wouldn't be able to cool their body temperature and would've died from overheating, given that feathers are great at trapping heat and dinosaurs generated A FUCKTON OF IT.

This whole feathered Dinosaur bullshit, just like Horner's scavenger fanwank is based around the fact that there was ONE dinosaur called Yutyrannus who lived in near-artic temperatures and thus could afford to keep his feathers into adulthood.

Come back here when you got your facts straight you chicken-saur cuck.

>>
>>68865594

A bird.
>>
the then cutting edge t-rex scavenger theory is why it turned out that way, but it's outdated and fringe now. everything about t-rex suggests that it evolved to kill the fuck out of other large dinosaurs

meanwhile there's a compelling theory that Spinosaurus walked on four legs, which would mean that it would've been pretty cumbersome out of water since theropods couldn't pronate their wrists
>>
>>68865594
They managed to reactive dormant reptile genes in chicken embryos that gave the embryos the exact same teeth as a T rex and the exact same giant reptile tale. Only reason they never grew them to adulthood, is because ethical laws wouldn't allow it.

That chicken you ate last week is a Terrible Monstrosity

Dinosaurs existed over a long period, they had feathers 63 million years ago.
>>
>>68865612
Nobody ever said that ALL dinosaurs had feathers. It's undisputed that many did.
>>
>>68865612
Wow. You sure showed him posting clickbait science shit.

And btw there are numerous feathered dinosaurs, Yutyrannus is just the biggest of them all.
>>
Just a reminder:
>Tyrannosaurus was a slow scavenger
>Spinosaurus lived in the water and ate only fish
>Raptors were covered in feathers
>They were all predominately homosexual, which is why they went extinct
>Cloning a dinosaur is impossible
>>
>>68865737

No, it's undisputed that many did during their early years but only ONE kept his feathers into his adult years.

It's also undisputed that scales makes more sense from an evolutionary standpoint as body armor than feathers do.

I'm not even being funny when I say this, but I fucking hate /pol/ so fucking much. Why do they have to constantly fuck up /tv/ threads with their homosexual witch hunt bullshit? Fucking Christ, how long until their cancerous board gets pulled from the site?

> It's undisputed that many did.

This is a myth perpetuated by that one interview where the Jurassic Park consultant admits Raptors had feathers. The truth is that Raptors had feathers, it's in their name. There's no evidence that proves others such as Rexes and Spinos were feathered, quite the contrary.

Some dinosaurs had feathers, most didn't. Larger land dwelling dinosaurs produced a lot of heat, evidence points out that these animals had to dissipate this heat in order to survive. Feathers would've prevented them from doing so effectively and the animal would've go to extreme lengths to cool himself.

Smaller dinosaurs, like the Raptors, did in fact have feathers. This is because they didn't produce a lot of heat due to their small size (in real life, Raptors where in fact very small) and thus feathers would've helped them maintain body home.

You guys are making a mess of everything. "Dinosaur" is a general term for a WHOLE range of animals that inhabited the earth during three distinct periods in our planet's history. They where very different animals from one another and there where a fuckton of different species, each with their own individual characteristics, behaviour and such, much like the animals of our own age.

The fact that Birds belong to the Dinosauria clade does not means Birds = Dinosaurs, much like Chimp doesn't equal Humans. It just means that at some point in time Dinosaurs and Birds shared ONE common ancestor, much like humans and chimps do. You are all just being willingly ignorant.
>>
>>68866523
Many =/= Most.

Feathered dinosaurs were the only ones to survive past the Cretaceous.

>what is yutyrannus

>>68866704

One dinosaur that lives in near Arctic temperatures and thus had to have a natural coating of feathers to have it maintain temperature homeostasis.

You argument here is akin to saying that because polar bears have a great layer of fat to maintain their temperature, then all land mammals must have the same amount of fat for the exact same purpose.

/pol/ is a containment board so hopefully never. They tried getting rid of /pol/ once but those fags just bled into other boards and ruined the site, so moot gave them their cesspool back.

/pol/ and /tv/ are the only consistently entertaining boards on this site, and /tv/ is funny in good part because of cross postng from /pol/
