>>you could have completely remove this film from the MCU saga and it'd still be the same
You legitimately described every MCU film since Avengers.

Although I agree that Cap should have been assassinated by Crossbones, this movie actually DOES have long lasting effects in that the Avengers are officially disbanded. The Accords are in full effect. Captain America and all other Avengers save for Stark and Vision are on the run/retired.
What?
>Avengers broken
>Team Cap on the run
>Zemo is alive along with Ross, will probably result in Thunderbolts
>Black Panther is born and takes Cap's team in his country
>Accords in full effect
>Iron Man's team broken too since it's only War Machine, Iron Man and Vision
>Spiderman gets set up as an actual superhero since he was just a kid flying in red and blue clothes before
>Vision and Wanda relationship setup

Scott turned the tables. He was arguably the biggest heavy hitter on the team. And he created a distraction for Cap and Buck to escape. It was for the story to progress.
>dude empire strikes back
Yes. How very unlike Spider-Man to reference one of the most influential films of all time... While emulating the Hoth scene as an attack strategy no less. This showed us that 1. Peter is clearly a child contrasted by these world weary adults 2. He's pop culture driven and 3. He's able to formulate strategies on the to.
>literally zero impact on story
What story? The MCU story as a whole? Dude, do you even arc structure? Now we have the Avengers fractured, on the run from the law, and splintered into factions. This is the low point of the second act. When all seems lost, how can we possibly expect them to win when Thanos comes around? Divided we fall and all that:
>remove this film from the MCU and it'd be the same.
Well, yeah. Nothing's Come after this one yet so.... But as I said, there IS an impact. Long term.
This is low tier bait. The kind of bait I used to post back in high school.
If you want this to be more successful a post - try more neutral wording, like "overall it wasn't bad, but it really had some weaknesses. Like..."
4/10.
