What happened after the first Matrix movie. Why did it all go wrong? I don't understand.
>>
>>68857702
There were other Matrix movies?
>>
Someone told you the sequels were bad and you accepted it as fact.
>>
>>68857702
First one they stole the idea from some lady who sued and lost. The other two they made up as they went along and they sucked.
>>
But the best action scene in all the movies is in the second one

>>
>>68857793
Fuck me that is boring as all shit... Nothing to commend it. It is stilted, dated and lacklustre.
>>
>>68857793
I was impressed with his commitment to the gunplay choreography in John Wick. I kinda forgot he was Neo.
>>
>>68857793
Even if we accept this as a fact, it is only empty, souless action scenes devoid of any deeper meaning.
>>
first one isn't very good desu mate. surprised no one seemed to pick up on that.

cool premise though.
>>
>>68857702
Daily reminder that only the first matrix and the animatrix are canon
>>
The first one was made using bits and pieces from other peoples work, The other two was all their own work.
PLOT TWIST:The men that made them had the mental capacity of women
>>
>>68857702
it was obviously not meant to have sequels, the story was at an end! The chosen one appeared, he is pretty much omnipotent in the matrix and the machines will lose as long as he is alive.

They had to de-power Neo for the sequels (which meant making his abilities exactly what we already saw in part 1 and nothing else) and invent some story to give us a reason to watch what was pretty much a certain future at the end of the matrix.
>>
The first one had just enough horse shit to be entertaining. After its success they realized people must have loved their horse shit so they went overboard with it in the next two movies which ruined it.
>>
Is that shit legit?

>Matrix Reloaded and Revolutions as we know them today, turn out to be quite different. But if you're in for another Matrix Movie, as how the story of Matrix II perhaps should, or at least could have been, switch on your imagination, click the links below and start reading.

http://thematrixtruth.remoteviewinglight.com/

Some say it's fan written because of hilarious stuff like pony tail agent Smith saying "pussy", and rebels being ruthless in terms of casualties of blue pills. But it does seem to have elements from the original Matrix script, like Morpheus being more of a zealot, and things that are later in reloaded like smith armies, the "source", and an antithetical nemesis to Neo.

Overall it would have been a 10/10 action movie.
>>
>>68858883
I might remember it wrong but wasn't there at least one more Chosen One that freed the first people from the Matrix? Or was it mentioned in the sequels?

That's technically impressive, but it doesn't really work with the story. Neo is never in any real danger, and really, why does he need to fight? Can't he just delete them from the matrix or something?

>she sued and lost
>they stole it
>but the courts found that not to be the case
>but this one lady claims it was stolen so they did

They decided to reveal in the second movie that the Matrix runs on a cycle where the machines let things go their course until the "chosen one" shows up, then they destroy Zion and reset the matrix while keeping a handful of survivors to repopulate. They do all this to maintain some kind of balance or some shit.

What that other guy is trying to say is that the storyline of the first movie is self contained and could have easily ended without them expanding and making up this new story about Neo just being another chosen one in a line of chosen ones. Machines rule the world through a simulation, freedom fighters find the chosen one, chosen one frees all the people and beats the machines. The end.
>>
The entire scene of The Architect in Reloaded is why the second sequel is top tier while the third finale is bland/unoriginal.
>>
I will defend the second one, the third on is a piece of shit. Matrix reloaded have some interesting plots : Neo and companing are looking to fullfill the profecy, clues indicating the Neo is not the first One, and the revelation near the end. The music is not as good as the first one, but is aceptable. And the action sequences are ok, remember the highway chase. However the movie also have its cons. The music is not as good as the first one; Zion is not what i imagine, the rave party and the love scenes was unnecesary; and to much philosophy
>>
>>68859167

The original script is even more original and far better than the sequels and it implies:

1. Neo is the one only because Morpheus selected him.(Saying there is a difference between knowing the path and walking the path)

2.There were 5 failed "Ones" before Neo, that Morpheus selected before him that failed.

It really makes a much better story than all that pseudo-philosophy about Neo being the Messiah.
>>
>>68859034

This. The guy can stop bullets but can't stop people? Even if we go with the premise that he can't use his... abilities on other humans, he should be able to stop the weapons or use their clothes against them.

>ahh... autism...

>Implying the Matrix had sequels
>>
>>68857702

It all ended as some truce instead of the ultimate battle to save mankind. They just basically shook hands and started over.

It was a lame ending.
>>
>>68861014

They both became trannies? Seriously what the fuck is wrong with those two?
>>
>>68857778
Not samefag, but I've actually been trying to enjoy them for years, but they fail so hard. Without getting into it:
>sequels fail so hard, people discredit the first for being a fucking solid sci-fi flick
>Hollywood STILL rips off techniques, sequences, cinematography from matrix films
>haven't had any sci-fi action film as relevant in pop-culture as the matrix since
>>
I read a great fan-theory for altered sequels, if somebody knows wtf I'm talking about, a link would be appreciated. Cannot find.

Basic premise: the humans blacked out the sky so the machines would not discover off-world, human colonies off in space (cuz footure after all).
>humans return from space colony shit
>wtfhappenedhere.jpg
>???
>trilogy
>>
forced sequel massive cashgrab
>>
>>68861014
>yfw the current versions will say Directed by: The Wachowski Sisters
>>
>>68862273
>wtfhappenedhere.jpg

like they wouldnt immediately know
>>
>>68857793
>>68859034

More than it not working in the story, there's no fucking stakes. It's just a dance.

In the first movie, knowing Morpheus' gang are about to get their shit pushed and thinking Morpheus might die makes the stakes so high for Neo.

>Morpheus, Trinity, Switch and Apoc introduced as mysterious and uncertain
>Cypher is slowly revealed to be a cunt
>just when we get a sense of who we trust, Mouse gets wrecked by agents
>Switch and Apoc get backstabbed
>we know main guy and hot girl must triumph, but we're now under the spell of uncertainty - plus mentor guy usually dies

Maneuvering characters story-wise is as important as moving them around physically, imo. Where's the thrill in watching Darth Vader and Obi Wan dance for 10 minutes, even if it's technically impressive?
>>

>>68859167
Pretty much this.
>>
>>68861014
They chose the pill (which pill it is up to you to decide).
>>
Because socialists, liberals and SJWs taught you that the Matrix sequels were bad and you believe them, and the reason why they were bad in the eyes of these so called critics is because the strong libertarian and conservative theme of the movie.
It basically told us that God is real, that socialism is taking control of our country.
But just like the SW prequels they were the closest thing to a arthouse that a big budget movie could ever be.
>>
the matrix isn't real
drugs are bad and can kill you

holy fuck anon that was god tier comedy, thanks you
>>
>>68857702

The wachowski sisters dissapeared up their own assholes

Also they stretched the sequel into two movies. If you view revalations and revolutions as a single film it's actually releally good at expanding the matrix universe.
>>
>>68864306
wasn't my fagtheory you jackbutt, how do reading comprehension, slughead?
>>
>>68861014
I still have difficulty believing that Lilly's actually trans. I mean if she is good for her but that forced smile in the one pic that actually exists of her post-transition makes me think that something's really fucky there.
>>
>>68858883
This.
It ended.
I still like the other two but they really shouldn't exist.
>>
The first one wasn't very good, and is probably the most overrated movie of all time. Even TDK and Star Wars weren't this bad.
>>
I like the whole trilogy.
>>
>>68857702

The wachowskis aren't good writers, and they were given too much creative control over the sequels like Lucas with the prequels.
>>
>>68857793

Beautifuck.
>>
>>68861014
>mfw The Matrix is about being trapped in fraudulent identity forced upon you by the system and coming to the realisation that when you are true to yourself you're empowered

Was it a trans metaphor all along?
>>
>>68861192
>It all ended as some truce instead of the ultimate battle to save mankind. They just basically shook hands and started over.
>It was a lame ending.

Disagree. It seemed inconceivable that there would be any ending other than a victory over the machines, a truce was a genius idea.
>>
>>68865406
... you do realize they submitted reloaded and revolutions as a single movie, with second Renaissance as the third movie? and the studio said nah, had the stretch reloaded/revolutions into two movies with dull action sequences and all but deep sixed second renaissance?

Fuck man.

Holy FUCK anon

Why you gotta go and play me like that

That would have been incredible
>>
