He could be cast as Harriet Tubman, and it would be the right choice.

But Amadeus makes a point to show that "American English" was supposed to be common tongue Viennese German. All of the German operas are sung in English, while the Italian operas or Latin songs are sung in their respective tongues.
The only thing they fucked up was Salieri's and the court director's accents, which were inconsistent. And that's easily excusable given the performances they both gave.
