Kung-Fu Panda is overrated. The first one was just the usual "Student learns secret technique and becomes the ultimate Kung-Fu badass" thing that Drunken Master and countless other movies have done better, with an element of the usual "Loser learns to fit in" thrown in. There are seven other kung-fu masters--Shifu, Oogway, and the Furious Five--trying to defeat the villain, and none of them amounts to shit at the end of the day. A more accurate title would've been "Kung-Fu Movie-By-Numbers".
KFP 2 is even worse, being basically a rehash of the first movie with Po mastering another secret technique (Inner Peace) to defeat another vaguely tragic villain. Here though, the "tragic villain" schtick is even stupider since Shen is a remorseless, genocidal psychopath who even murders his own henchmen. Shen's master plan ("I'll invade all of China with seven ships!") is retarded, the new side characters are just as useless as the old ones, and the whole movie is basically just a long Wile E. Coyote episode where the protagonists repeatedly try and fail to stop Shen over and over until Po wins.
Stardust, Ladyhawke, Dragonslayer, and The Princess Bride are way better than Harry Potter.
Louis Jourdan is the best Dracula, with Christopher Lee as second best.

Mad Max and John Wick both feel exactly the same in terms of stakes for me. How can I root for John Wick? He's a complete psycho with no sense of proportion. What's going to set him off next time? Is he going to stubb his toe and go on a hyper violent killing spree against the manufacturer of the table that hurt him and all of its employees? He's an insane character that I wanted to die as quickly as possible before he kills any more tangentially involved characters.

The difference is that in John Wick you actually develope atleast SOME sort of relationship with the characters, which gives you motivation to root for them, or atleast makes you emotionally invested in the scenes. This is all completely abscent in Mad Max, and that's why it's the artistic equivalent of a 2hour long music video.
Mad Max is complete trash, except for the good action and fantastic editing.
