Is the book any good? I downloaded it along with a bunch of other books that were made into movies.

I made a thread about this months ago, but basically I put all the music that was taken out the movie back in.

Obviously it was pulled for a reason, but now you can hear the movie as it was originally scored with 100% John Williams tracks restored. Some scenes work, some are better without.

yeah it's great, stop being a faggot and read it
>>
>>68793146
It differs from the movie quite a bit but yes it is good.
>>
>>68793183
O.k. But if I read it will I not be a faggot anymore?
>>
>>68793146
Yeah, but it's a lot darker and goes a lot into the science of the park and chaos theory

A lot of the characters are different, some better some worse
>>
>>68793199
I heard the Australian in the book survives and that the old guy is a dickhead.
>>
>>68793217
Is it too scientific? I can't science for shit.
>>
>>68793238
Muldoon is South African. Yeah he survives and Hammond dies :(

No, it just goes into the background of how stuff In the park works and chaos theory plays a bigger role iirc

It's not a masters thesis

Aside from being a well made movie, Speilberg knew exactly how to frame it with not only his DP but the SFX crew. Jurassic Park is still one of the only movies to pull off camera movement in a shot with lots of CGI well.

>>68793160
This movie is so engraved in my mind that none of these work for me. The T-Rex Paddock and Raptors scenes especially.
>>
>>68793272
I'm gunna read it in like 5 minutes then. Muldoon was my favorite in the movie.

>>68793304
Good. I hope I'm not a retard and give up reading halfway.
>>
>>68793383
>Muldoon was my favorite in the movie
You'll really like it then

Espcieclly the part where he blows up a raptor with an missile launcher
>>
>>68793453
Shit nigger. If that happens in the book I'm getting out of this thread now to go read that shit.

(but holy shit, only 4 four films under 70% and only 3 made under 100 Mil)

that really wasnt bad, just the ship kills were bs

I think I've legitimately watched this movie over 100 times, I'll never get sick of it.

I wish Old Spielberg would come back and make fun movies again instead of shitty non-memorable Oscar bait.
>>
>>68793453
>yfw that actually happened in Jurassic World

That had to be intentional.
>>
>>68794337
also the the irex's powers were probably a reference to the carnotaurus in TLW book
>>
>>68793160
Fascinating stuff, no joke.
>>
>tfw you will never be blown away and not disgusted by special effects again
>>
>>68794378
>TLW book
was also pretty good, those trailers somehow seemed even more comfy in the book than the movie. Also the characters seemed a bit less retarded and the kids weren't as annoying
>>
>>68794521
the special effects in this movie are still pretty good. the chase scene with the trex in rearview mirror looks a bit wonky tho
>>
>>68794485
>>68793338
One more too, the original T-rex finale, before they added in the "overture reprise"

I get that most people dont like it because its not what they're used to. However as a kid who listened to soundtracks, every bit of music that wasnt in the film ijterested me, it was like a lost curiosity. Now I'm finally able to piece it together..

My heart is always throbbing in that chase seen. I'm always wondering what I would do if the engine stalled or the transmission wouldn't shift into a higher gear and then I am relieved when the T-Rex gives up.
>>
>>68794595
>>68794709
Oddly enough, the first time I noticed the bad CGI was on low-res DVD rips. When I watch the blu-ray its less noticable.

The t-rex in the chase scene is all CGI i belive, but I still wonder how they made it dent the car door like that
>>
>>68793160
It all seems out of place tbqh. Tyrex paddock works far better without music because it does a better job of immersing the viewer in the scene. The characters are all waiting for any sound other than the background noise, and the audience should feel that tension as well without any music needed.

The raptor scene just comes off as too campy with music. Makes the raptors seem less intimidating and more humorous, like they are being played off as bad guys in a Die Hard movie or something.
>>
>>68794521
>tfw you'll never get to explore the park/island

it's my childhood dream
>>
>>68797052
i had so many dreams about being stuck on the island as a kid.
>>
>>68794231
Yea, what the fuck was up with that?
>>
>>68798060
Apparently, Speilberg cut a scene where raptors got on board

Just watch the fucking documentary on how it was made. Do you have any idea how many poured their lives into this project and how many new techniques they made up that became industry standard?
>>
>>68794289
Agree. Same goes for pretty much all the guys who made it big in the late 70s and 80s. They grew out of that of that childlike excitement for fun and entertaining movies. You can see how they "grew up" and wanted to do dramatic and artistic movies, but now that nostalgia is big, they try doing the fun movies they were once known for and they don't know how.
>>
>>68793091
They spared no expense

Even with a Red Letter Media commentary track this movie bored me to death, honestly never understood the hype for this series.
>>
>>68793091
probably the most god-tier movie to watch in the mid 90s as a little kid
>>
>>68799355
Are you dead inside?
>>
>>68799750
he's probably just twelve
>>
>>68799887
It makes me angry that there are scenes in jurassic World that they did with puppets and animatronics but were then overlayed with CGI replacement effects in the final cut off the film.
>>
>>68799999
>>
>>68793091
As with all Spielberg BLOCKBUSTERS, it has to do with a father and his child-related troubles.
>>
>>68793272
Hammond was a prick in the book and deserved to die.
>>
>>68793271
I don't know anything about science and 18 year old me could understand it. It's not very complicated, you should be fine.
>>
>>68793513
Do it.
>>
>>68800115
Like Jaws?
>>
Remember when the lawyer beats up a velociraptor in the book?
>>
>>68800285
And ET.
>>
>>68794378
I always thought that part was pretty lame in TLW. The book felt very rushed. You could feel Crichton giving up on JP

yea TLW is nowhere near as good a book as the original, but is still way better than the JP2 movie.

Still the entire series has the GOAT vehicles though.
