More like rich man's three stooges, but yes, I'd rather watch the stooges any day.
The Marx Brothers movies are pretty dated. They have funny moments of course, but can't really hold the whole movie together. Lots of rather dull stretches. Great and groundbreaking for their time, but that time is past.

Duck Soup is their best. So many classic scenes and no forced romance.

Agree, there was no Groucho counterpart in the Stooges.
There are a few Stooges movies, and they are worse the the Marx Brothers movies. (In fairness, they were made past the Stooges prime). However, the Stooges short format was a much better format for their kind of comedy.
