it's my favorite Seth McFarlane show by far.
they keep politics out of the show and keep it funny, a lot of really brutal jokes and scenes and the writing is miles above family guy and has been for a long fucking time.

It's in the better side of the animation gradient.
Seth McFarland barely has anything to do with the writing and it has the perfect balance of shitting on both political sides but not making the entire show about shitting on both political sides, and also shitting on the left just the tiniest bit more.
Southpark achieved that balance too and it's been pretty good.
I wouldn't say it's better than King of the Hill or Venture Brothers, but it's definitely in the same town if not the same neighborhood.

3.5 through 7 are it's peak. Every single episode in between there is hilarious. Before that has some good episodes (Camp Refugee, Black Mystery Month) but is hit or miss. Everything from season 8 on is just mediocre. Bad plots (badonka donuts, tons of others), flanderization, and just really unfunny comedy.

This is why Klaus feels redundant. In the older seasons Roger was also more of the punching bag and Klaus was a bully. Now that Roger can literally be anybody and is personality changes on a dime (although he's quite clearly a giant sociopath) Klaus become the wobby and now he doesn't do anything.
