Re-watching Avatar, I noticed that some of the CGI actually has not dated well (pic related).
It looks like something out of the 2004 Halo 2 game, like as if the visual textures have not fully loaded.

thats funny, I was literally just watching this in blu ray the other day and was amazed at how realistic the CGI is compared to todays standards. Still don't think there is anything as impressive as Avatar. Can not wait to see what James does with the sequels.

Warcraft's CGI out does this beast miles away. Altho the Warcraft movies' backgrounds are pretty crap and Avatar is still superior with its environment.

Avatar had a lot of motion blur in it. Stills are always going to look like shit. Look at the trailer in 1080p and it looks great.
It HAS aged with that said, and Pirates 3 still has the best CGI despite coming out 2 years earlier. Then again, Pirates 3 does not happen entirely in a CGI world.
It's a shame that no matter whether Avatar looks REALER THAN REAL LIFE or like a PS2 game, it's still a fucking shit movie and possibly the worst Cameron ever made
