What are some movies about rejecting violence, and embracing universal love and compassion?
I wish I knew, anon. I'd watch the hell out of those movies.

The 1950s original, at least. I haven't seen any of the remakes.

Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice
The animated Hobbit film from1977 had a strong anti-war/anti-violence message, as well as a bretty gud soundtrack
Ralph Bakshi's animated film Wizards, which also came out in 1977, kinda spoofs on this.
It pits a hippie-paradise fantasy world full of elves and fairies against an industrialized society of fascist nazi mutants. And there is a lot of violence and tits flapping everywhere, because Bakshi. The final question is all about whether or not the peaceniks will find a way to protect their society, when the bad guys have such an edge.
