The woman arrived to the bunker and she was in a hurry but it's not like she was running away from the ships, she said she was "barely touched", which means she probably felt the gas and simply kept going until she arrived there, her desperation was due to her being unable to get in and nothing more.

Sincerely doubt this, not just because the director said it was left intentionally vague, but mainly judging by the meals, board games and puzzle montage, it looks like it happened over the course of several nights. I would say at least a month, a few weeks more give it or take. The way she called for Howard when they heard the rumbling outside suggests they've all learned to rely on each other and that takes time.

The original bunker (only accessible through the vent) where MEW finds the earring is referenced in the ARG, Howard claims it wasn't big enough for both of them and he was right, so he made a deeper one that retained the connection with the other. It's unclear whether he kept the other girl in this smaller space or if she ran there and then tried to escape, unable to open the hatch... But either way, I don't think either Emmett or Howard are fully reliable with their testimonies, the two pictures seem to contradict themselves; although one thing's clear: Howard did know that girl, and had an easy way to dispose of her body whatever the case was.
