How can u know Leto isn't the Joker when nobody has seen him yet?
>>
>>68714122
ABSOLUTE
>>
Joker's one of the least interesting villains. I don't get the fandom surrounding him.
>>
Kind of, but Hamill has played the Joker many more times than the rest; Nicholson, Ledger and Leto have only done one movie (and therefore one story) apiece, and Romero wasn't exactly allowed to play a psychopathic murderer in the 60s show. Hamill's done a variety of performances over the years so you got to see varied sides of his Joker.
>>
>>68714215

Out of Batman's rogues who would you say is more interesting I say Ra's Al Ghul
>>
>>68714112
Arkham joker desu.
>>
>>68714251

KINDA, but Leto is still yet to be known what he is. with the emotional connection to Harley, he might be more of a Sociopath then Psychopath. subtle difference...

he might be the more romantic joker....

but that's only because Mark Hamils joker is REALLY the true pychopath.
>>
>>68714303
I unironically agree with this guy
>>
>>68714251

Not that guy, but probably Scarecrow if anyone bothered to do him right. Nolan chickened out halfway through and just said "FEAR GAS GO". Cillian Murphy was fine; they just didn't really use the character extensively enough.

Scarecrow should be used to explore his victim's fears; Arkham Asylum's sequences were some of the best in gaming I've ever played.
>>
>>68714215
He's certainly not on par with someone like Thanos or Ultron, but he's not bad. He only works in the context of Batman stories though. I don't know how they think a clown with no powers is going to come off as interesting in a movie about real superheroes.
>>
>>68714294
What is Penguin's origin story?
>>
>>68714112
No, it's fucking stupid. The Joker is over 70 years old and the character has changed during those years. Just because you prefer one over the other doesn't mean the others aren't true to the character. Fuck off.
>>
>>68714294

I'd argue the Joker's origin story isn't what makes him interesting. Some villains have an origin story and then stop being interesting there. Joker's ongoing feud with Batman for the sake of itself is interesting.

Ledger isn't actually an anarchist. He pretends to be one, but he also meticulously plans every detail and when things don't go as he wants in the end he just ignores it and decides to blow the boats anyway.

He talks about chaos a lot, but he also talks about his scars a lot, and the story is different every time.

No, he's not. The Joker is actually an absolute madman in the comics and people like him because whenever he shows up something major will happen. He is absolutely a game changer every time. That's the difference.

>killed Jason Todd (which created the Red Hood)
>killed Gordon's wife
>crippled Barbara (which created Oracle)
>killed and infinite number of Gotham officers
>cut his own face off
>cut off Alfred's hand

etc etc etc

Movie Joker doesn't have any real stakes, that's the problem. The Joker from the comics is not to be fucked with and that's why he's menacing.

This is why I don't like DC. Someone could have easily killed the Joker in Arkham just by poisoning his food or getting him alone and then beating him to death with a group of people.

Hugo strange as the main, recurring villain. The perfect intellectual adversary for Batman (The Riddler is cool too, but he's been done before and he's stuck with his clue giving fetish. With Hugo, you could have a Detective Batman storyline... for once).

Ventriloquist because dummies are shit-your-pants scary and he would make a great recurring mob boss.

Solomon Grundy for the supernatural shit (to make that Bat universe distinct from the others).

Man-Bat. Clayface.

I like the scarecrow a lot, he's essentially a lanky weirdo with a serious inferiority complex who uses his psychiatry skills as well as his fear toxin to mentally torture bigger and better men so that he can finally feel like an intimidating man instead of an impotent nerd. He should be like if Elliot Rodger didn't shoot the place up and kill himself but instead became an acclaimed psychiatrist who develops a fear gas so he can torture people like a true psychopath.

I thought Cillian Murphy was a good scarecrow, if he got more screen time.

Arkham Asylum's were great, especially when they made you think that your game had broken or glitched out, but the 'boss battles' were kind of dull compared to what could have been done.

I realise it's a video game that we're talking about and it needs to follow certain rules and games conventions, but something a little more alien would have been more effective in accurately capturing Scarecrow's villainy.

He can see into the future. To be fair, TDK is not the only film whose villain can predict the actions of other characters to unrealistic degrees, but it is one of the most ridiculous examples.

It's somewhat overly meta but the Joker actually can't seem to preoperly die. He's been stabbed, blown up, thrown in acid, fallen to his death etc so many times it's bullshit. He just can't die because villains must always exist for the hero to fight and because the Joker is just such a fun villain you can't kill him off.

This is also the unspoken rule that heroes must never kill. I mean, if they killed all their villain, you'd have to make up new ones and that'll be too hard and boring.
>>

Scarecrow is even more boring than the joker,he has one single gimmick that is repeated over and over with little to no variation. No interesting interaction with Batman or other villains. No interesting backstory either. He's cool, but that's about it.There was enough of him in Batman Begins.

I do agree that Hammill certainly captured that essence of the Joker character, whatever that essence is.

In the Arkham games, all of which had those Scarecrow hallucinations, the only truly amazing ones were in Arkham Asylum, because they were unexpected and used sparingly. My mind was fucking blown away in the first encounter with him.

Being cool is all you need. He was GOAT in the Batman games until he got boring.

You can't spell Mark Hamill without "arkham".

I like TAS as much as the next guy but it has some aggravatingly close-minded fans who cannot accept animated Batman in any other form.

The Batman was such a good TV show of Batman as well. Not many people seem to love it or enjoy it as much
>it went from Batman working alone to eventually getting Batgirl and Robin to eventually involving the rest of the Justice League within its run

My friend at Warner saw an early screening and said it was pretty bad.

Sorry anon.

I watched the first two episodes and couldn't into it. Does it get better?

Yes. The early episodes are the weakest.

That's what makes them better villains, the fact that they can still cause serious trouble and even defeat super heroes with only their brains. Villains like Thanos are just given all the powers in the world so they can become a meance to the heroes.
