i've just rediscovered him, all i've ever seen is biopic about him, and that's it. i think you have to grow up to understand his genius.
Great Dictator is a masterpiece, and City Lights is one of the best romantic comedies ever made. His proper comedies go without saying. I'd also recommend his biopic with pre-crisis Robert Downey, Jr.
