I can't say I entirely agree, but I do honestly prefer the old TNG borg vs the later ones. The Gieger-esque design was way more freaky and mysterious than the walking rave parties they became.

Design-wise yeah, but I didn't like her as a character. The fact that she had much of a personality at all made borg seem a lot less ominous and spooky. I liked them all better as an emotionless hivemind of cyborgs that simply did not give a fuck. Queeny went on about wanting a fuckbuddy companion for whatever reason, and that was super gay.

The almost sexual quality of this scene alone convays Geiger's art more faithfully.
It was sexual. It wasn't just a look of tubes and wires, it was a melding of machine with sex. The alien that the Xenomorphs were based off of had penis heads and giant ucking dicks bending over other girls.
I think alien franchise when done well counterpoints the grotesqueness of the Xenomorphs.
Prometheus carrys that tradition over with the abortion of the xenomorph. Also Alien2 having ripley having the chest burster coming from her womb... not chest in the dream sequence.
anyways, yeah, Star Treks borg babies is the closest to it, so they're not just the point of how bad the borg babies are, but without them or a sexual nature doesn't convey Geiger feel.
This makes 7of9 the best representation....

We see the Borg moving around with it as a physical characteristic of their bodies while by the time we see anything with Engineers, the scenes focus on their uncovered heads and the featues that made the suits look cool are streamlined into less interesting typical space armor. Both did do things, but it was more pronounced with the Borg parts.
