Do you actually think you have a point? Did you really think this was worth posting?
>>
>tfw more billion dollar blockbusters in just the past 5 years than any other time in history yet they shit whine about this shit

i am too afraid to go to the cinema alone so i always wait for the dvd to be released yeah i have to wait longer for the movie but atleast i save some money

If pirating didn't exist those people just wouldn't have watched the movie
>>

>changes in the industry

>pirates are somehow responsible for companies taking most of incredibly bloated movie budgets and giving pennies to actors
>>
>>68665500
This is true for the most part.

Pirating really does fuck all to affect the video game and movie industries. Some 75-80% of the people pirating would NEVER actually buy the game/movie otherwise, and the rest would only consider it.

It's such a stupid argument. Especially when these people make more money than ever before, and usually more than literally anyone else. Sorry that people want to spend their money on other things and stimulate other, more useful industries that aren't a fucking cancer on society.

>the entire American film industry, since its inception, has been people stealing from each other
>Hollywood is mad at the people for "stealing" (i.e. copying content without destroying it) from them

Oh the irony is delicious.
>>
>>68665220
Piracy is a moral crime that has to do with you, not Leonardo Dicaprio's bank account.

You are STEALING. Stealing income from the creator in which you stole from.

THINK about this.... why does this subject keep coming up? If it was not stealing, this topic would bever come up again, but it keeps coming up because the people who illegally download material know that they are guilty, but it they type on the the internet "I-TS NOT WRONG!" they can somehow fool themselves that they are not committing a crime.

YOU are guilty, and no amount of bullshit you type on the internet will change that.
>>
>wahhhh we can't adapt to the shifts in the way the industry works
>it's not our fault it's pirates!
>>
>>68665677
You seem to be completely retarded and lack any kind of knowledge on this matter, so I'll fill you in on some not so secrets

People that pirate don't fucking care. People that don't pirate are the ones that endlessly bring it up and try to bait stupid conservation that almost always ends the same way; with people not giving a shit, except you, and other people like you.

Nobody fucking cares, these people's money go to more useful things that actually benefit people, and it all ends up the same way; with these people that complain about theft having a fuck load of money, and nobody giving a single shit.

I've actually been to Deluxe studio and such and had an argument with a top guy about pirating back in 2005 and they get red in the face about it.

The actors don't get affected but everyone else in the industry work on less wages then 11 million a movie.

But to be honest, radio gives it out for free for decades and I don't see the music industry stopping. changing but not dying.

This, ladies and gentlemen, is the average comic book reader. Completely devoid of originality, imagination or wit, he lets pages containing both pictures and words do the "thinking" for him. His replies are simple and often follow the same, glib patterns. He is neither to be pitied nor hated, but for the most-part merely dismissed.

That's a dishonest argument if you try to justify pirating, but in truth I think it applies in most case. I'm a poorfag with no friends, I'd just start reading rented books again if pirating stopped to exist.

the concept of "STEALING" manifested in a time where it was not possible to duplicate items at zero cost.

it used to be okay that you could buy CD, take it to your friends, put it on their computer, and no one cries foul. 2 people ended up with what only 1 person paid for. society established this as okay.

with advances in the internet, it's easier to share music. 1 person buys it (or doesn't - not my problem - theirs) and decides that it's worth sharing with others.

you can't have one of these things be okay and not the other.

You can say it is morally/ethically equivalent to stealing but it is not the same thing.

>If it was not stealing, this topic would bever come up again

if it was stealing, it would be an easy crime to prosecute.

exactly.

people think this a black & white issue that has a clear solution.

the fact that it's been an issue for so long should clearly demonstrate that IT'S NOT A SIMPLE FIX and some neckbeard definitely doesn't have the answer.

you fags are always "WOW MY FAVORITE MOVIE MAKE MUCH MONEY SO IT IS THE BEST"

there wouldn't be movies if it wasn't profitable and it apparently is because they keep making those.

Fuck off with that Kantian bullshit.

There are shades of grey.

Why should art be defined by Capitalist sensibilities in the first place? How come no one ever asks that question?
>>
>>68665677
"THINK about this.... why does this subject keep coming up? If it was not stealing, this topic would never come up again,"

Theft is a fairly concrete idea, and doesn't require a lot of discussion. I should think that the subject of something melodramatically misnamed like "internet piracy" keeps arising again and again because there are a few profiteers who desperately want to label it theft for the benefit of their continued gain, despite the fact that it lacks most of the salient characteristics of theft.

>>
>>68665220
In a way it is. Pirating has influenced the type of films that get green-lit, since nowadays the only things getting made are the 200 mil block busters designed with the intent of breaking the box-office, and the smaller """indie""" movies that solely exist as tax write offs, but nothing in between. The majority of the people who pirate films religiously are the ones to complain about the "shit" that gets made in hollywood today. Go figure.
