I almost cried anon. Went to see it alone (all my friends at the time were edgy fedora fags and just wanted to see Matrix 2 for the 30th time) and there were about 4 other people in the cinema.
I'm not even religious, but it was so well made that you almost forgot the Christ part and just figured that even if he was a loony he believed he was taking it for the rest of us.

I thought it was a bit too drawn-out. Well-made, but still too drawn-out. The torture scenes just never stopped and started getting almost boring. THEN Gibson decided to have Christ walk down the street with the cross and fall over AGAIN AND AGAIN, like 7 fucking times, before he finally reaches his destination. It was visually spectacular, and I find the criticism that it was "anti-semitic" to be fairly baseless, but he really could have cut it down by at least 30 minutes in my opinion.

He has the facial features of a baby, the wrinkles of an old man, but because of the combination, it's not easy to tell if he's an old man or an old woman either.
