that sky looks kind of empty

maybe George can put some CGI flying hotrods in the background.
>>
American Graffiti was a studio controlled picture that gave final cut to the producer, not George.

If George had final cut it probably would have sucked.
>>
>>68647475
I'd like to see a Lucas style remastering of American Graffiti peppered with crappy cgi and stuff.

George Lucas was lucky enough to be surrounded by people with golden heart taking the autistic cunt in pity, mostly Spielberg and his first wife. He may say he directed A New Hope but that's a fucking stretch to say he's the one responsible for it's success. Over three hours of autistic moisture farming pseudo documentary was cut and much much more cringe worthy shit were changed before the final movie was shot (we all heard about Han Solo the space frog by now)
Do you know why he got all pissy at fox? There's 30 minutes of hardcore creampie fucking cut from THX1188. That scene in the white prison? Yeah. All over the floor bro. All over.

You see you're dealing with a man here who is obviously autistic in many many ways, survived a car crash and has an insanely disproportionate sense of self importance. Billionaire? Oh yes, but look at all the people surrounding him who quietly over the year wiped the peepeepoo he's been trowing everywhere. They made their profit too but keeping quiet. He has no friends.

The way that people talk about Lucas like they're intimately familiar with every production that he worked on sickens me. It's all the motherfucking Star Wars original trilogy, easily three of the most overrated films ever made. It's fucking Flash Gordon with anime-tier mysticism thrown into it. The only thing that those movies had that was a real achievement was the effects, which were all fucking Lucas.

The prequels give the greater story of the whole saga so much more depth than it ever had as three movies, but the problem was that the only one who didn't seem to revere Star Wars was Lucas. So he put the fucking big-eared comedic relief alien in the movie, what's really so bad about that? Jar Jar Binks was kind of funny and mostly inconsequential.

THX1138 was a masterpiece as well. If Star Wars didn't consume his fucking soul he probably could have had a much more interesting career.

Considering how the world treated him, we deserve The Force Awakens. It's what we all wanted out of Star Wars, and now we're getting it. Star Wars for the sake of Star Wars fans.

remember the time those fish people kicked Jar Jar Binks out of their society, but like a few days later he came back and they made him a general for no reason?

People love to rat on the prequels and their flaws, but hell, at least they were the genuine vision of Star Wars, unlike TFA.

>THX1138 was a masterpiece as well.

That's my favorite Lucas film. I just recently rewatched it for the 4th time. What he did with a limited budget was great. It's minimalist, dystopian science fiction at its best. Plus, having Robert Duvall and Donald Pleasence as the main cast...come on.

God that movie sucked. It was on the same level as Can't Hardly Wait, just with the party swapped out for fannying around in cars.
>>
>>68652549
You're too young to appreciate it.
>>
>>68652569
Too young to let it coast by on nostalgia, maybe.
The film is shite. By your own comment, not good enough to be timeless.
>>
>>68653015
No film is timeless.
>>
>>68653030
Plenty of movies made back then, covering cultural scenes from long before my time, that don't require nostalgia to be enjoyable.
>>
>>68653108
They're not timeless. The distance between the subject of any film and now is but a blink.
>>
>>68650596
Can we all admit that star wars wasn't even that great and it definitely doesn't hold up today.
>>
>>68654519
The Force Awakens wasn't that great.
