The Godzilla "films" cannot even be considered films as they are devoid of any quality that would make a film a film. They do not possess stories that evoke enlightened thoughts, nor do their plots follow basic and logical paths in intention and execution. It's a slideshow of haphazardly sewn together shots that make no coherent sense. You just sit there and watch grown men, adults (not mentally), put on the most horrendously designed and manufactured costumes and then jump at each other for an inordinate amount of time, the latter of which you will never get back and despondently regret ever allotted so much for this in hindsight futile appearing endeavor.
In conclusion, if you want your IQ to progressively annihilate itself, then watch these randomly amalgamated scenes of autism.

the original godzilla march is great. actually godzilla's revenge has a kickass psychedelic surf type score, same with ebirah.
until the 70s Gamera had Godzilla beat in terms of sets. the forests and islands and shit look amazing. gamera also had better gore and the fights were fucking brutal. but overall the series is subpar, even though most godzilla movies at that time weren't all that great either. vs. Gigan is when the sets really improve (also underrated movie, one of the best Showa films by far)

Alright I'll bite.
I'll be honest, most are very cheesy movies and require a big imagination to enjoy and get sucked into. However, some I could easily see being praised if they were released in the states. Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla is a great movie that I could tell Pacific Rim took some influence from. The original Godzilla is great too. The Heisei Gamera movies are all great as well. The Showa had a bunch of cheese, but that's a lot of the appeal.
