Fucking love that opening. Movie's absolutely gorgeous, and I loved the soundtrack. Story was pretty bogstandard but I'm okay with that. At least it's not like overtly bad.

Clu sent it, the reason it took him so long was probably because he was spending the time consolidating control over the grid and building his army up. I have no idea how he sent it though.

I feel like there's been a noticeable uptick in awareness and appreciation for this movie lately. Multiple threads on /tv/ and reddit have popped up celebrating the picture and there is a palpable universal despair that Disney pulled the sequel from their schedule. I hope an excec notices this and we will see a third Tron flick within the next 5 years. Legacy was certainly an awesome movie, and the grid is a world and concept I'd love to see explored further. Make it happen

I really don't like believing in the whole statist-loving Jew Hollywood conspiracy but is it any coincidence that Tron Uprising was cancelled as soon as it started becoming the slightest bit libertarian?

http://studentsforliberty.org/blog/2012/06/14/the-authoritarian-politics-of-disney-movies/

Yeah I know ratings were bad or something, but shit it was getting good.

That, and the scene where Bridges shows up in the club and everything just fucking stops, are both God-tier. I love the look on Sheen's face when he realises he fucked up.
>>
>>68653556
disney got the star wars franchise which then filled their sci-fi needs and would be a cash cow unlike the moneypit of TRON
>>
>>68645355
So a completely shit movie turned good by Daft Punk and olivia Wilde?

Tron Uprising is so weird. It's so much better than the movies to the point where like, it feels like the original?

Like Tron works so much better in an animated medium, it feels like the live action movies were shitty live action adaptations of the animated franchise, not the other way around.
>>
>>68653871
Daft Punk can do a lot of things if they want to.

Even make an Art House film (Although, not that arty).

Christ a lot of the scenes with Tessler were brutal
>>
>>68653871
And also great visual effects and Jeff Bridges

Really the only thing about the movies that's weak is the plot, everything else is good or great.
>>
>Change the music, alter the mood. Electrify the boys and girls if you would so kindly.

One of the best lines in the movie.
>>
>>68653629
I don't know, man. I just remember when I heard that line, "the state is the enemy," said by the hero of show, I knew it was too good to be true and wouldn't last.

Yeah, blame the ratings. Maybe the plebs can't handle liberty in their fiction. Maybe they need fiction that restores their faith in the ideal state and hero reformers who will bring a new better state to replace the old one.

But the stuff that Tron was becoming, the rejection of the "perfect system" and making the state the natural enemy of freedom, you know that wasn't going to get mainstream backing.
>>
>>68654069
for me that was one of the worst lines, along with biodigital jazz
i love the original movie and the 2.0 game though so..
>>
I love seeing movies and some series on ketamine, it just needs the right themes in it for me. this is a must see again for sure. The visuals alongside daft punk is amazing.

Sam was a wet rag, totally agree. at least in the original Flynn was interesting and fascinated about the grid

If anything, I'd pin Uprising's demise both on the ratings (not helped by being crammed into the graveyard slot) and the material it was covering. The show really heavily blurred the line between Programs being, well, programs and living entities.
