Why do people on the internet HATE Avatar so much. Whenever I talk to people in real life they always say "yeah that was pretty good i'd be in to seeing a bunch more" but online it's thought of as like the worst movie in the history of cinema.
If you think about it, this is pretty much the only original franchise (not based on books or material) that's going on right now in Hollywood. I just don't get why people hate it so much online.

This will only work if he goes full capekino on it.
He has to release at least two Avatar films a year. If the world is as rich as he says, it should be possible to make these films quite different. The trick will be that you can make the films more directed at a specific target audience, less broad, so we could get some nice science-fiction weirdness, with a budget to back it up.
The mainline numbered Avatar films will continue to be the same storyline done over and over again, I don't doubt that. But if he wants to make a lot of films, if he wants to make a self-sustaining franchise, we will definitely get an excellent science-fiction film or two out of it.
