Say something nice about him and his movies
>>
The Sixth Sense made me want to be a screenwriter when I was 8.

Unbreakable is fantastic

Bdh was hot in the village
>>
I actually love Signs.

I'm sorry.

Wait when did Bobby Jindal decide to make movies?
>>
He and his movies provide a reliable standard by which we can judge all other movies.
>>
>>68266194
He's a decent director. He just gets bad scriptsthat he mostly writes

BETTER THAN ZACK "THE HACKINO" SNYDER

The Sixth Sense was great. Unbreakable was underrated. Even if he can't write or direct actors worth a shit, he seems to collaborate wells with cinematographers, considering how nice his movies look. I hear he's a nice guy. He seems go have regained his touch with The Visit.

The Happening had an interesting premise but the execution could have been a bit better.

Signs and Sixth Sense are good.

I really love Unbreakable though.
It's one of those movies I watch every year or two.

The Happening is unintentionally hilarious

I do too. I agree it gets dumb in the last 10 minutes or so, but it's a very good movie up until the "tweest." It doesn't really ruin the movie for me. If it's playing on TV, I get pulled in. He didn't REALLY go to shit until Lady in the Water.

Sixth Sense
Unbreakable
Signs

All great. I'd actually argue that The Village was better than it's given credit for...but that's where it starts to fall apart.

The Sixth Sense knocked everyone on their ass and anyone who tells you otherwise is probably lying. People were talking about that movie for months saying how great it was. That's a blessing and a curse for what was, essentially, his big nationwide debut. Everyone just started to take him too seriously (including himself), when all he was really doing was just making kinda cool, modern Twilight Zone-esque type of movies. The audience internalized how Sixth Sense fucked them up and he was a victim of hype from then on. Nothing he could really do about it. If it didn't beat or equal Sixth Sense, he was fucked.

oh, and it has no twist
>>
>>68266194
Most of his movies are fucking great
>>
He's a way better director than Synder and actually has potential to be good again
>>
>>68266194
He gave Bruce Willis actual material to work with, unlike most directors.

Unbreakable is still objectively the best capeshit movie despite there being 6 new capeshits a year for the last decade.

He has a distinct directorial style that I wouldn't confuse with anyone else's, which means he's anything but bland.
>>
Why did he agree to direct After Earth? Why would he let Will Smith and his troglodyte of a son have their way?
>>
>>68267157
The twist is it was the plants all along
>>
>>68266194

The Village is a masterpiece. It's so good that it makes no sense that an otherwise terrible writer came up with such a good idea. His best movie by a million miles.
>>
>>68267454
I guess he thought Will Smith's name would help carry the movie a lot, but it bombed anyway
>>

That was stated like 15 minutes in
