VALERIAN AND THE CITY OF ONE THOUSAND PLANETS
>Valerian (Dane DeHaan) and Laureline (Cara Delevingne) are special operatives for the government of the human territories charged with maintaining order throughout the universe. Valerian has more in mind than a professional relationship with his partner- blatantly chasing after her with propositions of romance. But his extensive history with women, and her traditional values, drive Laureline to continuously rebuff him. Under directive from their Commander Arün Fillit (Clive Owen), Valerian and Laureline embark on a mission to the breathtaking intergalactic city of Alpha, an ever-expanding metropolis comprised of thousands of different species from all four corners of the universe. Alpha’s seventeen million inhabitants have converged over time- uniting their talents, technology and resources for the betterment of all. Unfortunately, not everyone on Alpha shares in these same objectives; in fact, unseen forces are at work, placing our race in great danger.

Adrift in space with no mission support, dwindling resources and the crushing realization they might be the only humans left alive drives the crew to the brink of insanity, before a mysterious signal alerts them that they are not alone among the stars. They must then face a terrifying question: The source of mysterious signal, now fast approaching their ship, represents salvation or something far more sinister?
LIFE
>Miles above the Earth, the crew of the International Space Station receives an unexpected guest in their state-of-the-art facility: A microscopic lifeform retrieved from the soil of Mars, the first empirical evidence of life in the red planet, one that could have game-changing repercussions for the human race going forward. Headlined by Miranda Bragg (Rebecca Ferguson), a novice microbiologist on her first assigned off-world, the team launches into an investigation to document the lifeform's evolution, but as the diminutive sample grows in size and shape, it becomes clear it is studying the human as much as they are studying it. And it comes to one terrifying conclusion: Kill or be killed. Displaying a level of resourcefulness that tethers on sentience, the lifeform escapes containment and spreds through the fortress, targeting the crewmen one by one. And has Bragg and the few survivors attempt to destroy the rapidly evolving creature, they realize they are fighting for something far greater than their lives: They hold in their hands the fate of the entire human race.

As Jake journeys into Space aided by a resourceful and captivating astronaut, Ute (Alexandra Lara), Jake and his partner Sarah (Abbie Cornish), who share a complicated romance-tinted relationship, tangle with a plot orchestrated by the manipulate Secretary Dekkom (Ed Harris) to assassinate President Palma (Andy Garcia) and exploit the world's greatest crisis to seize control of the government.
ALIEN: COVENANT
>Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, the crew of the colony ship Covenant, led by Miranda Daniels (Katherine Waterson), discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world — whose sole inhabitant is the “synthetic” David (Michael Fassbender), survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.
LUNA PARK
>In the future, a sprawling technology conglomerate has colonized the Moon, seeking to profit off whichever resources might lie within the sky night titan. A group of researches employed by the corporation soon uncover a once-in-a-lifetime breakthrough: A game-changing new - and very rare - mineral energy source that could reshape global economics. When their research is stolen by their employers and credit to the discovery is robbed of them, they join forces to perform a daring heist: Stealing the mineral from Luna Park, a fortified, effectively impenetrable research institute on the Moon's surface.
I loved the comics (which were the inspiration for Star Wars) but wish there was a heavier French element in the production

Not really. Star Wars is mostly derived off E E Doc Smith's "Lord Tedric" series. Valerian has space and aliens in it, that's as far as the similarity goes.
