ITT: films that traumatized you
Been searching for name of this film for years. Saw it on tv when my mom was watching it years ago when i was a kid.
Based on a true story about a guy who poisons his mother and you see her getting weak, her hair falling out completely, she goes deaf and then blind.
Was so fucking terrifying! Gave me nightmares for months and i never felt the same for a couple years. I was like 10 when i saw it.
I saw The Butterfly Effect as a youth and thought it was pretty fucked up, haven't revisited it since.
Requiem for a Dream. I wouldn't say it traumatized me but it made me pretty queasy watching it.ASS TO ASS

This movie will make you want to throw up and want to kill yourself with how depressing it is.
If you suffer from extreme depression then stay entierely away from it

Surprisingly, Trilogy of Terror.
Specifically, Amelia.
This shit was on TV when I was just a boy, and for some reason that little tiki doll motherfucker scared they ever-loving shit out of me. After a while, I became a huge horror movie fan, but for a year or so that damned movie haunted my dreams.
That scene with the Vietnamese child...

Don't Go in the House
I saw this on HBO or some similar cable channel late at night as a kid and holy shit it stayed with me for months. A guy goes to disco clubs and picks up women, brings them home and 'very graphically' burns them to death in a chamber with a flame thrower to please his dead mother.
It's a essential Grindhouse to see if you enjoy movies like Maniac, My Bloody Valentine, The Prowler etc.
