I implore all of you to check out the works of Karel Zeman. He blends live action, animated drawings, stop motion and lithographic sets in the most amazing way. Never seen anything like it before.

How do people get recent likes on their profile page??
>>68220929
>they don't rate
>they don't use the diary
>>68220959
Ahh cheers
only Goldmember to go and I'll have rewatched the great Powers Trilogy
>>68221163
Nice review for WitD, mang.
I finally can show the recent activity in my profile.
thanks for the help yesterday!
>>68221276
I disagree, but I appreciate it.
You've got a good eye for lists my g, I'll probably spam you with recommendations later
>>68221974
I rarely frequent these threads anymore, but why don't you just use the diary?
>>68221974
Rate. What. You. Watch.
>>68222142
why
>>68222174
because autism
>>68222135
Haha, sometimes a blurb about the essence of a film is more impactful than a formal review.
Look forward to the recs. A lot of my lists are WiP's or incomplete because I never got around to watching everything.
>>68222135
Your reviews are good enough to make me interested in watching the films you review, like WitD.
>>68220807
You're welcome.
what are your 5/5 movies?
>>68222511
>>68222576
>Godfather
>*THAT* good.

Too many movies on my watchlist. I might spend a weekend just watching as many as I can.
>>68222716
wow look how hard to find james bennings's films are
>>68222716
Thanks, lots of names I haven't read in the top two blocks of the pyramid. Gonna use this to explore some new directors.
>>68222813
I believe accessibility meant more about the quality of the actual film content.
if you fall asleep during a film do you still add it to your diary?
Just watched my first Edward D. Wood, Jr. film. Wasn't expecting to like it so much, frankly. A great film.
In Bruges was a lot better than I expected
>>68222511
I'm a pretty big pleb though.
>>68222873
Did it to Revenant and I fell asleep in the theater at like 9AM showing when there was like 5 people in there lmao
>>68222873
Why are you here it you don't already know the answer?
>>68222841
>"Its [sic] just a chart for people to explore the directors that might've not had to [sic] same level of distribution due to bans in their countries, sensitivity of their content or lack of funds"
>>68222881
Also my Rating Curve got fucked when I added a lot of movies
>tfw too scared to rate 5/5
>>68222908
so that's a yes then?
>>68222995
Guys!!! pls need help
>>68223081

I've got quite a bit for your sandbox, but if Dune doesn't apply then maybe I should quit while I'm ahead
>>68222405
I'm not fishing, really, but thanksbsc
Lost City trailer is out- what'd you think?
>Emotion as commodity and yet somehow it remains something integral to us.
Was it autism?
>>68224910
I didn't even know there was a trailer out. I'm hopeful, I guess. It still feels such weird turn for him to film this project. I guess it is sort of a money project so he can continue doing his 'smaller' films.. assuming it makes bank.
I feel exactly the same way of Carruth's the Modern Sea, but I guess we will see when they come to theaters.
>>68224910
>>68225281
and from what I heard in the trailer Hunnam generated a lisp out of his ass and it sounds atrocious
Relatively new. Only one follower. Will follow back.

This is one of his, haven't seen it though. Invention for Destruction

I scarcely 5/5 anything because I have an autistic thing about 5/5 denoting virtual perfection
So I have a lot of 4.5/5
>>68225994
>I scarcely 5/5 anything because I have an autistic thing about 5/5 denoting virtual perfection
Everytime someone says this their 5/5's are total plebfests
>>68225281
>>68225453
he's an awful actor and he's been the weakest point of every film I've seen him in but I'm still hopeful
It seems to me like a natural progression in Gray's filmography after The Immigrant. His brushstrokes have somehow become larger but still contain the same detail as seen in The Yards. He did his trilogy of a crime-oriented study on blood ties, legacy and sins of the father, and this seems like it goes hand in hand with TI in attempting to paint the great American novel.
but then again I cannot stress enough how fucking awful Hunnam is
>>68222881
I couldn't believe how fucking bad Silver Linings Playbook is
>>68225596
followed- /hankiro
I like watching a new user's progression
>>68226093
I don't know, I think Jeremy Renner is pretty bad but did good work in The Immigrant. Hunnam could be alright.
That trailer was a bit too broad for me anyway, I'm sure the movie has a much different feel
>>68225994
Yeah, I always have some part of a movie that doesn't 100% gel and giving a 5/5 seems too strong
>>68226090
I'm ok with that
>>68226184
I was kinda surprised too m8.I really should have given it a 1.5
>>68226204
and RPatz has hit nothing but home-runs lately so I'm sure he'll be great
>>68226093
I like(d) him in GdT's films but I said that to you already.
Rewatched Pacific Rim and Crimson Peak - he was good enough to play the part both times (though it was only a minor role in Crimson, by the way the colors in that film are some dank ass shit)
Got some issues though, like unable to unfuck his body language, still moves like Teller from Sons of Anarchy.
Gray is a good director and he even got a fucking phenomenal performance out of Wahlberg (not that he is bad, I like him - Pain & Gain and 3 Kings performance is good)
Guess you bring up a valid point about what Gray is up to.
Good night m8
I'm toying with the notion that Episodes I-III elevated the Star Wars saga to perhaps the greatest work of neo-mythical art made within the post 70s Hollywood blockbuster system.
>>68226417
>unable to unfuck his body language
Keanu Reeves syndrome
>>68226619
Jesus wept he was amazing in Knock Knock.
FREE PIZZA IT WAS FREE PIZZA

>>68226719
I fucking love it. It's so goddamn ridiculous. TGI was quite a turd tho.
