He's right tho. I hate him and he's a hack, but he's right on this point.

Most of the reason Superman is so retarded as a character is that he has no weaknesses, so they had to invent a fictional glowing green rock that, when physically near Superman, makes him lose his powers.

It's one of the dumbest plot devices in storytelling history, because almost every Superman story climaxes with the villain pulling kryptonite out of his pocket and going "mwahahaha" while Supes goes "oh nooooo my one weakness, how convenient for the villain, how does this keep happening?"

can anyone answer something for me?

So the terraformer from MoS turned a small portion of land into Kryptonite correct?

If that's true then how was Clark able to survive the gravity beam and metal tentacles attacking him if the ground he stood on was essentially Kryptonite?

Is it safe to assume that the ground hadn't completely been transformed into Kryptonite in MoS and that the land, overtime became Kryptonite?

If that's the case how is it that the land became Kryptonite after the terraformer was destoryed?

And if the land was transformed into kryptonite as clark was standing on it, and if clark was exposed to kryptonite during that scene and was still able to survive metal tentacles and gravity beam, and even flew through the terraformer how am I supposed to believe that a small chunk of kryptonite was able to give Batman the edge if clark was able to destroy the terraformer even while being exposed to land that was becoming kryptonite.

Also if the land affected by the terraformer became kryptonite then, had Zod succeeded in terraforming Earth entirely would the entire planet have become a giant ball of kryptonite in the years to come, effectively killing all the kryptonians on "New Krypton"?
>>
>>68222712
>kryptonite
no it didn't it tried to change the earths gravity and shit so it would be more like krypton not turn it into kryptonite why the fuck would Zod turn a planet he planed to transform into their new home into a endless field of poison
>>
>>68222814

So how did kryptonite come about then?

iirc in BvS they found it in the ocean near the site of the terraformer from MoS.

Im legitimately asking where the K came from is all.

And that's kind of my point with Zod, if the K came from some other source or from another reason outside of the terraformer like if it was a meteor ( like in smallville) then ok fine but I assumed the K came from pieces of land the terraformer successfully transformed into New Krypton. And if I were correct then that would mean that once the former turned Earth into Krypton then whatever process turned the small chunk of land into Kryptonite in BvS, would happen to all of Earth or really New Krypton. Zod had no idea that this process would even occur so it would've ended up being a huge mistake on his part.

I missed the part where they explained how the kryptonite came about in BvS desu.

I haven't read any of the suberman comics but my understanding of the character is that he is an alien who is pretty much unbeatable, unless someone waves some spacerock in his face.
I would argue that this understanding is not very unique.

So if we remove the kryptonite factor superman is just invincible. Not very interesting.

However that is beside the point. How the fuck can he argue that the kryptonite is overused but still includes the fucking batman origin story?

We get it batman is an orphan! Get on with it!

idk about suberman being dumb.
His superpower/weakness is pretty boring. However i think he dosen't really want to be a superhero. Hence the alter ego.

When I think about it it's prety interesting how batman is a 'normal'-person wanting to be a superhero while superman is the opposite.

Superman had a normal upbringing tho didn't he?

I have no idea who the fuck zod is but I assume he's from the same planet as suberman.
And I also assume he knew he was coming to a different planet before actually going there, so he would be mentally prepared.

And if they are from the same planet wouldn't that be like the equivalent of a human fighting a human?
If that is the case then they would not be indestructible to eachother right?

I was wondering this the other day -

Was Kryptonite a part of the Superman mythos from day one, or was it written in later? Did DC come up with the idea alongside the character, or was it something added in years later to nerf his powerlevel and create more interesting stories?

I ask because it seems like nobody can tell a Superman story these days that doesn't involve Kryptonite.

Yea, DC sucks.
They seem to be like the vanilla of comics.
Marvel steals their concepts but make them better.

Didn't DC start making capeshit?
