Although I didn't read much incestuous undertones into the film, I can't help but feel that there's just a bit of moral knee-jerking on McQueen's part when he unequivocally dismisses the idea. I mean, if people see it, it's there, if only in the minimal sense of a misinterpretation.
I think a better attitude would be to acknowledge what people have interpreted head on, and if his intentions were different, discuss that.
